About Me:Hey there! I'm 29 years old, have been married for going on 8 years to a wonderful man, and have the most precious little girl who just turned 2. I have been fortunate to be able to stay home with her the past 2 years and as a result, have been able to start freelancing with my art. I love fantasy art and specialize in soft, semi-realistic, digipainting. I'd love to work more in traditional media, but the tablet is my first love. Right now, I am simply a commission artist, but I do hope to someday start selling prints and other products of my work.
Music:Movie and game soundtracks, SheDaisy, Nickleback, Evan & Jaron, Josh Groban, Jennifer Paige, Eisley, Epica, Plumb, girl bands!
Movies:The Count of Monte Cristo, King Kong, Moulin Rouge, The Dark Crystal, Stardust
TV:Heroes, Lost, The Office, House, Flash Gordon, Avatar the Last Airbender, and shhhh...I'm a sucker for reality TV. Don't tell anyone!
Books:The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! I like reading Harlan Coben, Iris Johansen, Terry Goodkind, Melanie Rawn, Philippa Gregory, and Jasper Fforde. Into just about any genre and I love mixing the classics in there too.
Likes:Being outside, fantasy, wikipedia (heh heh), getting to know like-minded and down-to-earth people, baking, spending time with my daughter, laughing, family and good friends
Dislikes:Overboard emo-ness, dishonesty, rudeness, snobbery, & most vegetables
Hobbies:Drawing, writing, dancing, singing, playing piano
Vices:Gummi bears and my sweet tooth in general, can be a little too self-critical, especially when it comes to my work
Virtues:Loyal, friendly, encouraging, and just in general, I try to be nice to everyone and not let negativity come out of my mouth
Am starting a new picture, but I'm planning on doing this one a little differently. I want to revamp my website - basically just change the CSS graphics since I'm not too too css/html savvy and can't do all that much to it. But another change I'm going to make is on my commissions info page. Changing prices a little bit, but also I'd like to have a good example for each type of work I offer. And I figure a neat way to do that would be to have the same picture all the different ways - as inked lineart, as a graphite piece, as a digipainting, etc. So that's my big project for the next several months! Plus, it gives me a good excuse to work on my traditional chops a little more!
So I just first of all, need to figure out what to do with that left arm...
I found out about this place over on Deviantart and I must say, what a great spot on the web it is! I love the fantasy art community and to see so many talented people gathered in one spot is really awesome. I hope to get to know people here and further immerse myself in the fantasy art community.
I primarily digipaint, but I'm wanting to dabble more in traditional work (starting with painting some poppies for my guest bathroom!). I would love to get into the whole ACEO thing. I keep telling myself I will, but then never make time for it.
I'm primarily a commission artist and have had the fortune of having work published in a calendar, on the cover of a novel, and in a computer solitaire card game. I would love to someday sell prints and other products - just gotta find that awesome printer first, though!
All in all, art for me is a love of creating and I never want to lose that. I will always strive to improve, but on my journey, I want to love every step I take and every piece I do, imperfections and all.
Anyhow, enough babbling from me tonight! It's great to be among you guys - I'm sure I'll draw inspiration from each and every one of you. I hope to do more than that, though. I hope to make some good friends here too!
