Photos from the set of TITANIA!

    Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:20 AM [General]

    Hello Everyone,

Wednesday we shot the first scene of TITANIA, and have posted photos from the set. The image above shows Keith Chandler (as Nicholas) and Victoria Hay (as Titania). And there are more to view via the links below.

Landscapes figure prominently in fairy tales, if not as separate characters themselves. We shot one scene this week on location where we'll shoot the rest of the film in September, giving us the effect of season changes for the film. This scene is a dream sequence in which Titania suddenly sees the landscape of her estate winter laden and stripped bare. The metaphor is that of clairty - no leaves on the trees to block her view into the forest that haunts her, the sun vibrant and blinding when it comes out from behind the clouds. In the beginning of this scene she lifts a veil as though unveiling the truth - she is starting to put together the pieces of the puzzle, and when she wakes from the dream in the film has strength and insight she didn't have before. The veil is also black - and she unveils herself from fear and darkness. Hence the fiery colored underskirts of her costume which fortell the brightness coming to her life.

Our shoot day was amazing! The landscape at the park where we shot was golden and dry from the winter, making all of our shots look like beautiful Andrew Wyeth paintings (if he had painted fairy tales). Geese were swimming in the lake you can see in the picture above, and a falcon was flying overhead all day bringing food to her babies in their giant nest, aloft one of the trees next to where we were shooting. You don't get that on the set of "Law & Order".

We're very happy with the footage and the scene is currently being edited. Once complete we'll have post a clip from the scene for all to see, and use it to generate buzz and resources to shoot the rest of the film!

    Titania heads into production!

    Saturday, February 2, 2008, 02:40 PM [General]

    Join the Saga for $10!!

This past Monday my film "Titania" took a very important first step out of pre-production and into actual production. This is a dream come true for me that I've been working on for the last 3 years. With the Queen's Dream performance on Jan. 28th (which served as an introduction to the film) we received the most amazing response (read some of the beautiful quotes below). It appealed to men and women, fairy tale lovers and those who don't read them, and most of all to everyone who has been through adversity and come out on the other side. And like our main character, so many wanted to share their stories of healing with me after the show and so inspired me to go forth!

Today we launch our $10 campaign. We're asking everyone we know to please consider giving us the $10 bill you might be using to buy two cups of coffee at Starbucks, or buy a ticket to another movie and instead help us reach our goal in the next two weeks!

What Does the $10 Give You? An invite to the private cast screening of this first scene - if you're not in the NYC area we'll record it all for you and send you some special gifts from the event. Entry into the Wing Society*, and entry into the Dream Raffle**. The satisfaction of helping a group of talented, grateful artists launch a truly beautiful and unique project.

What Does the $10 Give Us? A guarantee that we can shoot this first scene. The ability to show NY Women in Film Org and IFP that we can raise funds in order to gain 501c status and fiscal sponsorship from them. The opportunity to take both the scene and the sponsorship to industry investors to raise funds for the rest of the film - slated to shoot in August.

Click on the link below to Join the Saga and help us reach our goal by Feb. 20th!

    Mermaid Movie

    Tuesday, December 11, 2007, 09:28 AM [General]

    Hi There,

I've just begun my first venture into animation!  A friend sent me a mermaid shadow puppet last week, and I began using it to make a short film of the Little Mermaid - focusing on the voice she gives up to go ashore.

You can view it on my site here: www.inbytheeye.com/MermaidMovie.html

Also on YouTube and on my myspace page: www.myspace.com/medisaga

This is just the first minute - there's more to come!  :)  Lisa
