About Me: I am a violinist (classically trained) recently more involved with 'fiddling'. I married 2 and a half years ago (for the first time!!! second for my lovely hubby). I have two beautiful daughters, the eldest of whom is to be married this year, and three beautiful grandchildren gifted from my youngest daughter. I hate describing myself, so will let you decide what I should really write here if you choose to find out about me.
Music: I love classical music of course, but for the past 6 years have been very involved in folk music. I started a band, 'Spellbinder' last august and we have recorded a cd recently. Everything is going well with it and we are looking forward to all the different things we can do musically given the various inputs from each of us (there are 8 of us). Other than that, my musical tastes are somewhat eclectic and I seem to like little bits of all sorts rather than a blanket enjoyment of any particular genre.
Movies: Love them!!!
Just watched Elizabeth, the Golden Age... wow, what a fab film for the costumes, settings and everything else. erm, the story is good... wonder where they got the idea! ha!
TV: Never ever ever ever watch it.... hate it ('cept the news occasionally).
Books: Love them... I have read all sorts and go from classics to modern mind numbing fairly happily.
I have just published a book !!! called 'Patterns of Light'... a collection of paintings (some inspired by shamanic journeys) painted by a wonderful iconographer lifetime friend of mine. She wrote a poem and each verse is illustrated with one of her paintings. I set the verse to music and after 12 years in the boiling pot, we have realised our dream of publishing it. Official date for publication is 16th March 08.
Likes: Anything artistic, clever, and funny. If music is involved so much the better.
Dislikes: Anything that is not cultured.
Hobbies: Music making, reading, creating things... erm... publishing books!!!
Vices: Smoke but desperately needing help not to. Erm... dare I say more??? heh. Aw, actually, no other vices (boring huh?)
Virtues: Loving.
Heroes: Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, Beatrix Potter, Anyone not afraid to praise someone else's achievements, Maxim Vengerov, Jascha Heifetz, All creative minds.
