    Race for the Cure

Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 09:08 AM EST [General]

    Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Susan G. Komen
for the Cure in its efforts to end breast cancer forever, which a woman has a 1
in 8 chance of developing in her lifetime. I will also take part in the Komen
Tidewater Race for the Cure as part of this program.

Please help support me in this important project by contributing generously to
Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund services
in the Tidewater and Southeast Virginia area that include education, screening,
treatment and patient support.. It is faster and easier than ever to support
this great cause - you can make your donation online by simply clicking on the
link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your
tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. More information on
Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its programs can be found at
    tidewater.info-komen.org/race.

Whatever you can give will help it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your
support and will keep you posted on my progress.

    Sincerely,

    Julia Ruane-Smith

Want to help people going through Chemo?

Saturday, June 6, 2009, 10:37 AM EST [General]

I discovered this wonderful charity that teams people up with patients who are going through chemo and we send letters, cards, and little gifties to the patients while they are going through chemo to brighten their day. My first patient is about to graduate and I am now anxious to get my new patient! It is fun and it feels good to give back! Here is the addie if you are interested:

    Space Junk

Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 08:56 AM EST [General]

According to the media it has basically been decided that the light in
the sky was a part of a Russian Rocket that took off on "Thursday" and
it landed in the ocean. Well, okay, but I would think that the "space
junk" would have been burnt up a long time ago and isn't it convenient
that it crashed into the ocean especially since according to what I
saw on the news it was last seen somewhere over the middle of NC.

It is fun to think that it could have been Aliens....
I haven't seen Fox but I have smelled a sensual perfume in the air! Oh wait, I forgot, Spring has sprung and flowers are blooming...
