About Me:
Mother by day; Web Developer and Illustrator by night.
You can find stuff I've done by cruising by the following sites (and please do!):
ArtStuff
- Kir's at Ellen Million Graphics -- Ellen is terrific, and I prefer this shop, despite the competition and that I have too little stuff there (my fault, not hers!)
- Whimsical Dreams -- my CafePress Shop, which has the most variety of both items and images.
- Metasilk at deviantArt -- primarily prints, using high-quality photo-like paper (last I checked) than anything else I've had done so far
- Whimsy at Zazzle -- another shop. Products may overlap with the first Whimsical Dreams, but I've not had the time to get everything up on both. I hope to just add traffic and get lucky (that's why these extra places).
WebStuff
- Metasilk Webworks -- my usually slightly-out-of-date business site. (between work, art, and mothering, who has time to update her own stuff? *chuckle*)
Commissions and new clients accepted.

I have no idea what to call this, really! Watercolor on 4" x 6" 140 lb Strathmore coldpress.
I do feel like I've made a Step Forward with this one. I feel like I'm finally starting to be able to halfway actually do the kind of painting I see and can imagine doing. I know I still need to work larger to make it really come together.
I want some PITT pens.

I hope this is OK to post in this Group/Forum. These 4 ACEOs I'm listing on eBay today ("Griffin Chick" is the only one I haven't posted anywhere before; I finished it (more or less) this weekend):

Honestly, if doesn't say in the gallery or album commentary that someone else has it, it's quite probably for sale. But these 4 ACEOs I'm listing on eBay today ("Griffin Chick" is the only one I haven't posted here before; I finished it (more or less) this weekend):

Because a friend asked me to! A bunch of print sizes for this available at my deviantPrint shop, but remember, it's only 4"x6" in the original so larger sizes might be, ah, sketchy.
Also, I'm working on making the devPrints prices consistent, but the editing features is per image only, no "store-wide" changes (that I've found). So, whatever. Stuff to do.

There's this small beastie called a snow flea ...
Ink and watercolor on 60lb. paper. Approximately 4"x6". This will likely be our holiday card this year, and I'll put prints up for sale next year. (Or then again, maybe sooner.)

p.s. Snow Fleas are actually a type of Springtail, and do not make you itch.

Yep, my design. Got approved for stamps (not by the USPS, just by thte folks that make sure custom postage isn't too rude or crude). I'm pleased!

This is just a Shout-Out of appreciation for Marianne and C Gibson. They both gave me great feedback about Stone Window, and I really appreciate it.
So... Go see their blogs, get to know them admire their work (and since they're both artist in different ways, buy stuff if you have the money in this trembling market...).
Thank you!

Stone Window: For those of you that know something about watercolor, please comment on this -- you'll want to click and then click the full-view as well -- the original is about 4" x6" so the full view isn't all that large either.
I like the critters, anyway, and am pleased with being as far along as I am about the stone (mind you, I don't like the stone, I just like that it's better than a) my previous attempts and b) way better than another chunk of stone in another painting that is beating the snot out of me).
I did post this to my Fae Folk album here, too, although I am concerned about the upload notice regarding copyright. I think it is intended to meant that the person uploading is owns the copyright/has the right to upload, license, share, and so on, but that's not what it it says. I'm not sure I will keep adding images here.

in which I've been just outflowing. Not much to show for it yet --
nothing finished -- but made progress on 3 watercolors, 1 design logo,
1 knitting project, 2 newsletters, work of its various kinds, wood
stacking, billing. This is something. A good something.
Hooking up with zazzle too (http://www.zazzle.com/whimsicaldreams), why not. I like their mug selection better than either deviantArt (http://metasilk.deviantart.com/store/) or cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/whimsicaldreams).
Spent too much time drooling on the keyboard while browsing CheapJoe's. Mmm, art supplies.
Accidentally went to a watercolor painting gallery show. Yummy. What I learned: loosen up, let the paint do the work. No, really. Let the paint do it. Let go. Let go more. And still more.
Like Sark says: Live Juicy.
Time to use what I've got though. I've got 45 minutes til putting the short guy to bed...

Part of a birthday present (personalized stationery) for my niece. It's fun having a decent printer...
