About Me: My name is Molly Harrison and I am a fantasy artist working out of my home in beautiful northern California. I reside with my husband, two kids, 3 cats and a lot of wildlife. Music is very important in my life. I actually began my first year in college studyng music (opera) and then decided it was not really for me. I also had a lot of fun singing with a band for about 4 years - that's where I first met my hubby. I graduated from California State University Chico in Illustration Design. I work primarily in watercolor and ink. The fluidity of watercolor and it's transparency is what draws me to it. It is difficult, but it is also those little suprises that happen sometimes that can be something that add to the individuality of each piece of art. Why fantasy art? It's the subject matter of legend and dream and it allows us to imagine and create worlds where our hearts wish to be . It is magic spun with fire and rain and wind and colors of our wildest dreams. Fantasy art evokes the most emotion in me. I guess that's why I've chosen it. I have been selling my art for about 5 years now, something that was once only a hobby has turned into something a bit more ;) and it is wonderful to say that I am a working artist! My art has been sold worldwide and is licensed for various products such as figurines, greeting cards, decoupage books and sheets, art tiles, candles, etc.
Music: Enya, Dido, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel, Sting, U2, Sheryl Crow, Dixie Chicks, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Chris Issak, etc.
Movies: Spinal Tap, Eye of the Needle, Basic Instinct, Can't think of the names of a bunch.....
TV: Don't watch much....but....King of Queens, Discovery Channel, Dr. Phil....oh gheesh (I'm so boring....)
Books: I Know This Much is True, She's Come Undone, Bridget Jones' Diary, Wuthering Heights, lots more I can't think of rihgt now....on a psychology kick right now.
Likes: Music, bike riding, reading, cooking (sometimes), listening to the wind, reading to my kids, beach combing, camping, hiking, petting my cats, gardening (sometimes).
Dislikes: Traffic. People who talk too much. TV (except the shows I like...) Politics.
Hobbies: Music (playing keyboard), reading, walking.
Vices: Don't smoke, don't drink (gave it up 8 years ago), don't do any drugs. I try not to have vices, but get through tough times by realizing my emotions are a part of being human and it's ok to be real. Frustrations are what keep us challenged. Maybe the computer is a bit of a vice :). Some would say art is a vice - when we are in a funk, pick up a paintbrush and paint the day away. But it's a healthy vice I guess - one that lets us express ourselves through color and emotion. Oh, I guess coffee would be a vice right? I LOVE coffee!
Virtues: Try to be kind to others, no matter how you feel about them. Charish the simple things.
Heroes: My mom and dad, my husband and kids. These people are my heroes because they do things on a daily basis that keep the world turning in a positive direction. Small stuff counts.

Dear Molly, welcome, we're thrilled that you're part of our EF community with your beautiful art. I have always loved your gentle, wonderful work & wonder whether your musical roots have an influence on your talent. (My favourite on here is Left Behind, very evocative.) The way you describe fantasy art & why you paint are deeply inspiring & I'm sure will resonate with many magical folk here... (Reading every night to our boys when they were young is one of my most precious memories - as I write this, we have a houseful of 19 year old lads for the weekend, celebrating our son's birthday with amazing energy - you are wisely making the most of this blessed time ;)
    Big smiles,
