Froud Workshop
This past weekend I was a participant in Wendy Froud's "Creating a Faery Figure" Pasadena workshop -- while I picked up a couple of tips, mostly it was just fun to be in a creative atmosphere and to see Wendy and Toby again.
I got to meet some gals I had only known online up 'til
now, and make a couple new friends.
O, yah! I made a doll, too! LOL
Finally, a BJD...
This is what I've been doing for the last week, rather than things I'm supposed to be doing...=-D
I have intended to make one of the ball jointed dolls (BJD) for several years now, and finally sat down and made one!
All Jonna's parts are hand-sculpted -- he is hollow, and strung together with elastic, so he is completely posable. Now the poor li'l fae needs some clothes!
I'm very pleased with the result, and will be doing more in future....I think the next one wil be a Fada...

Wow D, it's obviously a good thing that you've not been doing what you're supposed to be doing :p as this magical creature is the great result - Jonna is fantastic, you are such a talented gal - now I can't wait to see what the awesome seamstress in you dreams up... |

This is an interesting idea -- I haven't seen any of these in the OOAK listings to my memory, and I'm sort of wondering if there's a tutorial somewhere that explains how this is done. Closest I've ever come to something like this was a marionette I made for my kids some 30 years ago... Rdehwyll |

Wonderful! I love the expression -- halfway between "I can do this!" and "I hope I don't drop any..." Rdehwyll |
Fae Names!!
Wowsers! Two blogs in one day...LOLI just found Rdehwyll's book project, and scooted over to get my name. I got one for my given name, and for my nickname oddfae -- so I'll attempt TWO!!
My names:
Sounds like big fun...and very inspiring!

I heard a tapping on my patio door this AM, and opened it to find this li'l fella -- he stopped by to remind me to fill the hummingbird feeder, so I persuaded him to pose for a portrait...
