About Me:Greetings!
I'm an artist/sculptor because I can't imagine being or doing anything else. I've sculpted, made dolls or drawn since I can remember.
Whilst this sounds rather serious, it's also important that I have fun in loosing these Things on the world; however, occasionally it feels that I haven't any say in the matter -- some of them would leave marks on the inside of my head if I didn't let them out!
My li'l Oddfae are available for purchase on my website, Odd Fae and Autumn Things, on Etsy, eBay and OnlineAuction.com by searching for oddfae, and other places soon to be announced!!
Music:(in no particular order) The Damned, Dead Can Dance, Goo Goo Dolls, Oingo Boingo, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Ian Gillan Band, Rick Braun, Herb Alpert, Dagda, Queen, Falling You, Secret Garden, Balligomingo, Nox Arcana, Eisley

I was in San Diego for a show this past weekend, and taught a sculpting class, too! The class went very well -- everyone went home with a sculpted head,
and we had a lot of fun! AND, they threw a little birthday party for
me...how cool is that?!
The Dimensions in Dollmaking show was
fantastic this year -- over 60 dolls from all the world. It was very inspiring, and
I'm just brimming with new ideas...stay tuned!!
Hi Dawn! I've been looking at your EF page! So much fun! This one is still my favourite!! I adore her and remember holding her lovingly when we drove to the work-shop! It was a lot of fun being with you and Bj!! xoxoxo
This
past weekend I was a participant in Wendy Froud's "Creating a Faery
Figure" Pasadena workshop -- while I picked up a couple of tips, mostly
it was just fun to be in a creative atmosphere and to see Wendy and
Toby again.
I got to meet some gals I had only known online up 'til
now, and make a couple new friends.
This is what I've been doing for the last week, rather than things I'm supposed to be doing...=-D
I have intended to make one of the ball jointed dolls (BJD) for several years now, and finally sat down and made one!
All Jonna's parts are hand-sculpted -- he is hollow, and strung together with elastic, so he is completely posable. Now the poor li'l fae needs some clothes!
I'm very pleased with the result, and will be doing more in future....I think the next one wil be a Fada...
This is an interesting idea -- I haven't seen any of these in the OOAK listings to my memory, and I'm sort of wondering if there's a tutorial somewhere that explains how this is done. Closest I've ever come to something like this was a marionette I made for my kids some 30 years ago...
Wow D, it's obviously a good thing that you've not been doing what you're supposed to be doing :p as this magical creature is the great result - Jonna is fantastic, you are such a talented gal - now I can't wait to see what the awesome seamstress in you dreams up...
Happy hugs & waves to you both,
