    About Me:
members.enchantedfolk.com/orchidlament Hi everybody Im the Faerie Queen Orchid Lament. As if there was any doubt. I mean my god look at me. I couldnt be any more Fae if I tried. Who better to be a fairey Queen Than a big ole Faerie. People all the time ask me why do you act so damn flamboyent .Why do you flounce and prance and always have to be so fabulous! I tell them "My god have you ever tried it?" Its wonderful. Every body should act like a Faerie at least everyonce and awhile. Can you imagine trying to have a war if everybody looked glamourous all the time . It just wouldnt happen. Nobody would want to muss there hair or chip a nail. Ever tried to goosestep in highheels darling It just isnt going to happen.
Music: I like music with sound. It makes it so much easier to hear that way.
Movies: Well I grew up a big horror movie fan as well as Sci fi and fantasy. Duh! I worked for and many of my friends both living dead are some of the greatest performers in this genre. They all thought I was nuts too.
    TV: Dr. Who Rules!
Books: Will read just about anything unless its by right wing nut job.
Likes: I like art and beauty and magic and animals and cemetaries and performing on stage and film. I like Drag and costumes and makeup and corsets and most important I like life !
    Dislikes: I dislike gravity.
Hobbies: going anywhere and doing anything that involves pagentry pomp pretense and escapism.
Vices: I dont drink or do drugs But I am 100 percent behind his whole sex concept. its a good idea i hope it catches on. In the interest of full disclosure Under another nondeplume and i am a internationally infamous kinkster. But in a nice way not in a scary Silence of the Lambs way.
Virtues: I have thanked the Goddess for my unique ability to accessorize.
Heroes: Vincent Price Elvira Mistress of the dark.Groucho Marx. Marliyn Monroe, Dolly Levi, Auntie Mame, My sister, Mistress Barbara Darke and Mistress Kiva, Mistress Cyan and strong assertive aspects of the Goddess found in women everywhere. and of course that wonderful Drag Queen who used o skate through the city in faerie wings and pink dress when i was working down town. You were always moving to damn fast to ever stop you and talk but your courage inspired me. I hope you are blissfully happy whereever you are.

The sex and sexuality of faerie. (Warning Adult themed Idea)

    Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 01:02 AM [General]

Hi everybody ,I have been in terrible qaundry lately . As many of you know i  have more ythan one duality going in my life it may possibly be qaudality or Octality or even more but heres the thing/ On one side I enjoy writing faerie Stories and doing faerie art very much .Sweet Femme creatures in high glamour and flowing gowns. But on the other hand I am also better known in the art world as a erotic artist.  and performer. Abnd though some might disagree. i believe the fae to be sexual creatures. .

As i wirte these days trying to stick within the Victorian parameters of what faeries were supposedly said to be I find myself leaning more towards a much older and i think more acurate interpretation of  The fae and there function in human interaction.

I brought this up with the Powers that BE here at Enchanted Folk and it was suggested that i start a Adult faerie Group .  This would be a private group with age limits and disclaimers and all such safe gaurds to protect more fragile creatures from harm. it would not be a place for pornography or exploitation but rather for expression and exploration of the most elusive and closely gaurded of secrets of the fae. A place where fae can be viewed  in context and exaimined as Three dimensional creatures rather than vague archtypes.

But first i thought id throw this idea out there and see if there was any interest  before launching a group. Now i dont want this to sound as dry as all that .it should still be playful life affirming and uplifting and yes more than little sexy Possibly gritty even a we bit tarnished around the edges. Things only hinted at in modern fiction and art  as it stands now. What do you think.?

feel free to post a comment positive or negative. Its your first impressions Im looking for because Number 1 Im here to enhance Enchanted Folk not detract from its charm. If the fae dont want it then im not going there .All im asking is that I get to know one way or other. its good information to have for my future faerie involvment. Thanks so much in advance for your imput and i look forward to reading your thoughts.

I've never really subscribed to the notion of Victorian Faeries, preferring to believe that the ancient legends were much more accurate; The Fae were very earthy and sensual -- there are many tales of seduction, kidnapping to possess beauty, children produced as a result of seductions... Even Shakespeare had Titania bespelled to lust after Bottom, who was wearing a donkey's head.

    I say go for it...

I agree with previous comment - you should not restrict your art from flowing into the less beaten paths, and there is nothing offensive in erotism and/or nudity and/or seduction. I would love to see that artwork! Nature itself is a constant orgy of reproduction, survival and death, and that is what makes it so glorious.

Who would the faeries vote for ?

    Thursday, August 21, 2008, 06:39 AM [General]

Ok i know that in a rarified atmosphere such as this Politics might be verbotten subject but I had a converstaion the other night with a very fae person and She got m e thinking about the future and where were going and all the suffering going on in the world and so i thought You know what Theres allot of issues in this election state side that are of importance to the fae. So i have no interest in starting a huge debate nor am i going to disclose who im voting for or even endorse one candidate over the other (but his name sounds like dali lama ) All im asking that if that you follow your faerie hearts and please VOTEif  in the US because "Hope " My dear friends is a faerie virtue.

My name is Orchid lament and i approve of this message.

The greatest faerie circle in the world is the world!

    Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 08:17 PM [General]

Oh My ! Thank You all sooooo much !I was completely blown away by the overwelming support I got for my last post. it was incredible. I mean i was crying tears of joy. i feel so amazingly loved and supported right now. Thank You Thank You! You are all truely the the greatest!  You know when this community started out .I just had a feeling that something about this place was different from the all the other faerie sites on the web. People here even in the early days seemed to understand the deep spirituality of faerie. They keep it in they're hearts and save it from the money grubbing mad dash for cash that seems to be glutting the market right now with faerie Stuff with no soul. And cattle call events designed to herd the sheeple through and fleece them of every penny in theyre pockets.

But not here. Here the fundemental core faith remains strong and viberant. The faerie lights burn bright. I know why that is. its all because of Be and Drew! They have worked this spell. That ensnares us all and draws more and more here everyday. They provide this place that can embrace so many and give them all the support they need whatever there story is. What ever the passion that drives them may be. The beautiful words i read in my comments were so mcuch more than about me and my journey they were a testimony to all of you. The very Faeist of the fae! I think today you would find Queen Titania somewhere in a forest smiling very contentedly right now.

The wonderful thing about this place is its going to fly in the face of everything else happening in the world right now. Everything that may be happening even  to faerie in other places. The trendy hucksters and conmen who decend on anything special and try to rape it for a few bucks then move on. Will do exactly that. They will move on. Because they cant ever sell bottle or capture and exploit what we have here. The faerie tales teach us that faeries are elsuvie impsoible to catch and impossible to tame. and as they call to us to form this movement we can rest assured that The fae realms are safe. This is a oasis for the folks that know  .  i love you all for your fine light hearts and open minds!

    Transformation and faerie Glamour

    Sunday, August 17, 2008, 05:25 AM [General]

This is a little more intimate post than any ive done here before because the subject may be a little touchy for some. After years of walking the gender fence. ive finally decided which way to fall. Im going to follow my heart and transition all the way to Female. Personally i think the better of the choices. i had allot of help on this By my fabulous Mistress Mistress Alexia Jordon and Mistress Cyan. Who when i told I was going to go all the way. said "Its really about time dont you think. " She pointed out more people know me by girl names and personae than they do by my boy name. besides i spend more time in dresses and heels than i do in jeans and a teeshirt. Every person i have met that has gotton to know the duoality that is me says sooner or later :I like you much better as girl." Or "Your the girliest Hetro man ive  ever met .

So this me getting out of my own way and taking the faerie path whereever it leads. truth is its so much easier to tap in the faerie glam when im dressed . than when im not and they seem to like me that way better. Unlike so many of transgender friends who have a horrible time in the human world When im dressed i sail through it and magical things swirl around me whereever i go.

Im already on hormones and im loving the feeling I tell you what ladies you have some great chemicals flowing through your system and you didnt have to slip south of border to get them .Everybody is blown away about how fast the changes are happening to me. My chest is swelling like i deployed a floatation device under my skin. and my face is changing. .Of course the emotional roller coaster that goes with that is no picinic. Im crying allot and am finding myself feeling more vulnarble and exposed. But at the same time the feelings of joy and happiness are likewise far more intense. Als where i could make  magic happen with allot of effort and concentration Now is so close and easy Im not sure whats possible or impossible anymore.

I chose to share this with my enchanted friends first. Despite the edgey subject. Because i thought that the faerie Realm might understand what im experienceing more easily than other circles im travelling in. Im still orchid Lament of course but now im becomming Orchid times ten . Thats soo thrilling for me. Let the Glamour shimmer and the faerie lights burn bright. Im comming home sisters!

Just be careful... I've heard of some who go through permanent (physical) change, then regret it later. So all I'm saying is don't let the getting swept up part let you down because you felt you acted too fast when you look back.

Otherwise in regards to society's horrible humans, that's something you'll have to put up with. The problem they perceive isn't yours though, it's their own.

Be Free to enjoy, be free to leap over walls, and be free from other's disrespect. :^)

Diamond Dead wins wins Best musical

    Sunday, August 10, 2008, 12:14 AM [General]

Im back!  Im back Im back! I missed you all very much. There has been soo very much going on i couldnt even blog about in a hundred posts. But it all fabulous. I mean really fabulous! The Faerie magic is courseing through life and like all faerie glamour its as unpredictable and strange as it ought to be.

So im just going to focus in on one thing thats happened . Years back i wrote a little show called The Diamond Dead  with my music partner Richard Hartley  ( You might remember him he wrote the music for something called the Rocky Horror Show. he is such a showoff.) Diamond Dead about a struggling Rock Band who meet an untimely demise in a freak subwoofer accident. There manager Aria De Winter wont let them rest in peace however and makes a deal with death to raise them from the grave in exchange for the delivery of 100 souls due on Halloween Night. Aria being slightly amoral takes the deal thinking she would worry about payment when the time comes. The band are reanimated but they come back as flesh eating zombies. Really nice guys but cannibalistic carrion eaters non the less. Now one year later they have climbed almost to the top of the music scene and are having there big world debut concert.

Now anybody who has read my strange little faerie tales knows I cant tell such a grim story with out it balancing out in the end .and turning a certain slaughter into a positive thing.  All my stories have to have positive life affirming message. This showwas my first attempt at writing myself into a corner to challenge myself. in this way.but im afraid you have to see the show to see what i mean.

Any way. In 2004 a little theater company in Washington DC asked to produce this story as a play and the people all involved said sure. What the heck. Go nuts. and they didit they did it beautifully. They have been playing this as a midnight show ever since .

I hadnt heard from the DC cast in almost two years When suddenly my private email in box explodes with congratulations. Turns out Diamond Dead won Best musical  at the Washington DC Fringe Festival. I couldnt believe it.  The Landless theater blew the doors off the Festival They even beat out the best that the West End and Broadway could enter. A true underdog story. SO needless to say Ive been a little preoccupied with this wild development But im going to be posting here again as The faeries compel me to get back in touch with all the Fae. Life is beautiful isnt it. Here are pics from the show.

    Orchid,

First of all, thank you so much for your kind friend request. As to your sept 10 quandary: it's probably not so much a question of whether the Faerie World would be comfortable with your work; the Fae are nothing if not the spiritual outpicturings of our Blessed Mother Nature, and our Mother is nothing if not ... natural - sensual. I dare say that none of us would be here at all if at some level we (our parents, that is) weren't tuning in to an inner sensuality. The question really is: how comfortable can our strongly culturally restricted view of our true selves be with your work? I think your work acknowledges that part of our deep inner knowing that is so often avoided. Your work is intriguing and points in a healthy natural direction. Please keep going.
