Although I can't really 'get around' as much as I'd like to as of yet thanks to this sprained ankle (which I discovered is really an injured-ligament sprain in the top part of my foot) a little Motrin in this case seems to do the job, as well as yerba mate tea, evilevilevil chocolate, yoga, music, and of course, *creating*.
Speaking of creating: more new originals for your pleasure and entertainment are in order: pictured here is 'Mushroomhead', another piece of work which will be available through the upcoming 'A Walk Through Wonderland' exhibition show and sale through Duirwaigh Gallery.
Here is yet another new piece called 'Wondering Alice'. This original, too, will be available through the exhibition.
A few other new original pieces are now in the Ebay shop: a fun little 'Balloons for Alice' (yes, an actual Alice for the taking immediately) and 'Francois on a Cornstalk Fence'. For some obsessive reason (New Orleans on the brain) I've done a few of the cat on a cornstalk fence, but this is my latest, and favourite, of the cornstalk fence cats.
Happy Autumn! Happy YUMMY-AMBERCRISP-REDAPPLELISH Autumn!
yummylicious autumn and new art
because we can never get enough of owls
I've a new o-so-adorable original called 'Owlettes'. 8x10" original on watercolor paper, mixed-media (which for my work means mainly watercolors and inks.) The original is available in the Original Art section of the website.
And, hey! Don't despair; the owls don't end there. Oh, nooo. I have two more ACEO-sized original rune owls, as well as a couple of other new ACEO originals as follows: ..and... er.... that's it for now.

And as it so may be, since I'm on this 'post a Canadian 80s video I like' fixation, this is what I will end this post with: 'O Superman' by Laurie Anderson. Hypnotic in its way, and actually it was something I heard on the radio often when I was a kid. Love her theatrics. And yes, she does write and perform worldwide to this day. Just so ya know. G'night.
Let's see... what have I for you today?
white cheshire cat and other new works
On to art stuff: 'White Cheshire Cat' (on 8x10" watercolour paper) is another in my series of Wonderland pieces for the upcoming 'A Walk Through Wonderland' exhibition: This exhibition, beginning at the end of October, will include my Wonderland-inspired originals for show and sale. I'll remind you about it closer to the event.
NEW ORIGINALS AVAILABLE: Works added to the original art gallery: 'Music Box': original on watercolor paper, 5x7", and matted to 8x10". The pale-ice-blue archival matt has been hand-embellished using inks and metallic inks. Not only do you get an original, but it comes with this one-of-a-kind designed matt... how fun is dat? And if you ever want to change out the matt for any reason, I always use removable tape so that the art and matt aren't affected. 'A Little Celebration': 6x9" mixed-media original on coverstock paper. The image goes to the edge of the paper on this one, the way my ACEO originals do. PRINT UPDATE: The Pirateens are now available *only* in the Art of Paulina Ebay shop. Also, several originals which were at the website gallery have been moved to the ebay shop, including Pirateens originals.
AUCTIONS: Original ACEOs up for auction; only one day left! I will be creating more of the rune owls, but they'll likely be placed in the Ebay shop at a buy-it-now price. I will be creating more of my little rune owls, but they'll likely be placed in the Ebay shop at a buy-it-now price.
Ooch! Zee pain! I seem to have sprained my ankle and I'm really not sure how I went about doing such. I do have a habit of sometimes unexpectedly turning my ankle when I walk, and recall doing just that the other day, but why would it render my poor ankle unmovable two days after the fact? Alas, Kevin brought me ice-packs, material-wrap for my ankle, and 'Kashi' chocolate chip-oatmeal cookies. That makes it better, even if it isn't better yet. Hmmm.... I guess this means I'm gonna hafta work at my desk permanently for the weekend, and cease running around every half hour as usual! I find it near impossible to sit for long periods of time without at least getting up and running or walking. This is going to be a challenge...

a walk through wonderland & 'i boo believe!'
October 27th to November 30th, Duirwaigh Gallery presents 'A Walk Through Wonderland', an online original art exhibition and sale inspired by Alice in Wonderland and other Wonderers interpreting the land of the Wonderous! As a contributing artist, I've been working on a series of Wonderland pieces. This is my first in the series:
'A Long and Sad Tale' (9x12" on watercolour paper.)
This original will be available for sale through the exhibition at www.DuirwaighGallery.com.
The exhibition is a little while off yet, but this allows us the time needed to create our wonderous works! There will be lots of original art to be seen by fantastic contributing artists such as Mary Blair, John Hench, Brian Froud, Wendy Froud, Larry MacDougall, David Delamare, Tom Kochie, Pat Kochie and Gary Lippincott, to name but a few. It's not to be missed! Mark your calendars! I will of course remind you about this closer to the exhibition.

Available exclusively through Faerie Magazine: 'I Boo Believe!' hand-embellished print. This is a 5x7" limited edition print. I've uniquely hand-embellished each one using watercolour and metallic ink. Signed and numbered, limited to 250, and printed using archival inks.
And before I sign off, I'll share my latest dream with you: I dreamed about a gigantic cactus sort-of plant, which was actually called a 'Vincent Price'. One of the flowers had his face. The plant had a sign attached to it which read, 'grow old and die in this castle with me.' The plant was on a cart, which I pushed over to the window so it could have a better view of the ink-black night. Then I had to run through a crowd of secretaries. It was hard to get through as there were so many standing shoulder to shoulder.

I love Alice in Wonderland. It's one of my favorite stories. I recently found the very artistic pop-up book by Robert Sabuda. Chris |
new goodies
New ACEO originals up for auction:
And now for a little bit of recollection from our Ontario trip in August. One of the many quaint, peaceful places we visited was an antique stained-glass window shop. Greeting us on our pathway to the windows were just the sorts of curiosities we love to find in the midst of anything-searching. Nothing like beefcake 'shake it' Santa and Christmas displays in August. When we finally made it to the windows, we we greeted by a huge array of antique glass eye-candy. This particular one really caught my attention. Maybe that one, or one like it, will still be there next time we visit.
A trip to Ontario is never complete without visiting the Limehouse trail. I always love this simple yet energizing bridge view of fast-moving water.
Alas, it's always Hallowe'en at Restless Moon Gallery! And now that Hallowe'en approacheths, I grow ever-encompassed with its essence. New original work available: 'Off We Go A-Haunting!' Watercolour/inks/mixed-media on 8x10" watercolour paper. More details can be found in the Restless Moon Gallery original art section.
