There's a first time for everything, in this case, Ebay..
I'm often asked to make AURYNs, and as much as I love the piece, it's just not my thing to make replicas.. Instead, I made my own representation of the famed jewel and decided to auction it and give anyone interested a fair chance at being its owner sincce I get asked so often. The auction maybe found here, and below is the eye candy :)

What happens when someone decides to copy my work and business? My network of friends tell me and they get mentioned in the copycat hall of shame all across the internet, I will follow and let this be yet another blog exposing this shameless "artist".
Here is someone from Italy who has blatantly copied not only my designs, but also the descriptions and if my Italian is still as so-so as it's always been, my bio and descriptions of what I do. Even stole a graphic from my previous website! I mean, how low can you get...
I've already contacted this person asking to get some integrity and do what's right, but so far I've received a vague apology and a block from her flickr account, without any changes made. That's where lawyer friends and family come in handy!
The funniest part of all is all the coyright info she's placed on everything, just like me, she even copied that allthough she might have no idea what it means!
Personally, I really don’t think it’s so much the physical work that I do which makes people buy and appreciate it, but the energy that goes into it, which comes from my soul, and no one can steal that.
Wow. I am absolutely stunned. I have had many ideas stolen from me over the years, which is heartbreaking enough, but this is just insane. I have seen so much brilliant work that I would LOVE to say was mine! And so many things I wish I dreamt of first, of course...we all do, but I find others works to be brilliant, and I love the fact that mine are atleast mine. How awful. Fight this. Fight it with all your might, as your work is YOU, no one else, and comes from your soul. @ newspapers by me are entangled in a lawsuit, where one blatantly copied the others' obituaries, down to the last comma, and refused to stop, which is what led to the lawsuit. We all want to live life peacefully, well, most of us, anyway, but on occasion, we must stand up for ourselves and fight for what's ours. Good luck, darling, and I hope this other artist learns their lesson.
But I do notice that lots of very famous artists do not do this & often have very large jpegs. I wonder how many of their images have been stolen off the internet & ended up in someone's portfolio. But perhaps they know that if the actual work is signed & been seen by lots of people then the on-line image doesn't count all that much?
Anyway, just some thoughts. I hope you can at least embarass them... perhaps put their names & links to their stolen images right on your website (or right next to your image) with comments like they must like it a lot to steal it & pretend that they are you? That's what I might do (I think) in this kind of situation...
Thank you Enchanted! Yes it is pretty insane. Somehow it seems that these people think what they do doesn't count somehow, that they are allowed to get away with it. Maybe the concept of distance, with me being in Norway. I mean she's tried to literally block me away, as if that's going to make me disappear somehow lol
Indeed I want this to end, at this point I've told everyone in every community that deals with hand made art, I just made a general post with the pictures and let everyone see it. Well my blog has so far received more hits than it has in months..
Most of the time these people don't thrive, at least from most of what I've seen and heard, they just get nowhere. In any case I'm taking even more precautions now than ever before because as you grow, so does the possibility of these things..
Lise, the one of a kind pieces which are the ones she has copied don't have an actual signature on the pendants but a badge with my initials attached to the necklace. The ones that haven't been sold are with me in any case, so there's plenty of proof really. It's just finding out what to do with it.
When an artist gets well known then it's definitely harder for anyone to impersonate them and get away with it, so unless someone's making money off stolen work, they probably don't make that much of an effort to stop them. That's my guess anyhow..
I am going for the embarrassment all the way lol, I made a blog post with the actual pictures and a detailed explanation to everything. It's so blatant that anyone who sees it feels what I feel right away, just as I would if I saw it done to anyone else!
The last thing I'd imagine when I was a young girl, is that I'd be spoken about in a magazine in Norway. Well, it's been done. Now I can start sending mum and dad clippings of press Plumevine gets and compete with theirs!
Check it out: IN Magasinet's October issue for Trondheim has featured pieces by yours truly in an article about Mazing, with a little snippet about my work.
Sara's Jewellery Box pieces and Amethyst Dew Vial (sold)
The text reads in English:
"...here you can buy Margit Aasvalds' porcelain art and the unique jewellery of Lorianne. Her Fairytale collection consists of intricate hand craft with different gemstones and beads. Copper is used as a base material, something that ensures the jewellery will be in good condition in 30 years (I have no idea who told them this, it's really not true, the base material is clay which is fired multiple times and treated with acrylics and sealants, but it's still durable!).
The jewellery is priced after the materials and the details are fantastic up close. Lorianne also designs on comission, so if you want a completely unique jewellery piece for a wedding or a special gown, you can collaborate with the designer and create something that is one of a kind."
I've also a good load of work ahead of me, I've completed the latest designs for Outland, but now a rockin display and accompanying pieces from my made by Order collection are in the works.
Elven Pods
The people there have been really awesome, and I'm feeling very positive about having my work there. Their specialty is fantasy and they really *get* Plumevine. It's not just about jewellery, but the concept entirely, the mythology behind the work, the culture and what inspires it.. So they will GET Plumevine!
I'll let you know when it's up and running at the store, for you local peeps who want to check it out!
How excellent is this!?! Your stuff has always been wonderfully creative, full of detail, going beyond plain craft and into the exploration of what can be imagined.
Thanks alot Tommy! It's really a milestone for me. Mazing is the boutique where I sell my jewellery at locally. So they got an article and the girls must've talked alot about me because of all the people they have on comission, they pretty much talked about my work.
And the rascals didn't say anything till I went there yesterday!
There'll be a fashion show tomorrow for the magazine, with local fashion and I've a feeling there's more they didn't tell me about. I'll have to find out when we go :)
This piece brought tears to my eyes! Beautiful
