till learning lap dulcimer... i'm the worst player every but i'm determined. I'll get a capo as self gift for my birthday which is coming soon. I'm going to be at Barcelona (home quiet home) all december resting and that leaves me a little more time to be in internet and be in touch with you all. I'll making a few more minipaintings (The observer is the only one left available in my fanclub) for sale. Also there's a book of me and some fellow illustrators on the making, will post further info when it's about to be released.
I'd like to get a cheap cello cos my friend Sveta is offering free classes. It's not that I want to make the expense but i'm seriously considering it. Still on my list to "I want to have" things there is the waterphone and theremin though ! LOL
Working at good pace in the Underliving after a break :). I have the definitive track list :) that's a good thing to see the end of it.
I also wanted to share a few fan art drawings i've got lately, I'm sharing one here, made by illustrator Esther Sanz and that features me and Medusa Dollmaker (another fellow illustrator) so a fantasy illustrator portraying two fantasy illustrators, that's way cool isn't it!!?
just a quick reminder that i've re-caught twitter

You are so talented! I am sure you will learn to play the lap dulcimer just beautifully! |
Back from faeriecon, dulcimer and new painting on sale
Yay, back from our trip to USA, all concerts delivered with success... had inmense fun with FAUN and WOODLAND and all the other bands and artists. There are a wealth of pictures of the events at
www.faeriecon.com
On the other hand a listener (and also friend) Poe and his wife Amelia gifted me a lap dulcimer... I have no idea about how to play it, but it's fun and i've been a week investigating so starting to scratch some sounds out of it :), just give me a few months. It looks pretty, and though traditional repertoire on this instrument doesn't fit with my music much, the sound is lovely and i'm starting to adapt it to my own way of composing, I already am composing a little ballad called "a fading thought at the dream's door"
here's a pic of the instrument, very excited, we don't have it in spain! so yay, a new challenge
Also here's a pic (first of a very special photosession with Kelly Miller-Lopez (singer and harpist from Woodland) my wolf-pack sister, portrayed as Snowhite and Rose Read from the fairytale.
Finally, I made a set of minipaintings for selling in the faeriecon, they've all found new owners :) but there's one left and it's now listed on sale. It's a tiny minipainting called "THE OBSERVER" it's only 4x6cm oval a bit bigger framed. And you can purchase it in my fanclub For a clearer shot go to the shop in my fanclub (watching is free ;) Size is tiny (4x6cm non framed 9x11 cm framed) small yet detailed. Price: 70 Eu available at: priscillahernandez.yidnethfanclub.com/en...Add a caption The Observer. Minipainting for sale (the only one left from the minicollection I brought to faeriecon) For a clearer shot go to the shop in my fanclub (watching is free ;) Size is tiny (4x6cm non framed 9x11 cm framed) small yet detailed. more info, new vip contest and other news (i'm a bit delayed so i need to make a big up to date) coming soon. I'm slightly more active in facebook, so if you want to catch up with the news feel free to look for my personal profile there, and also my group and bandsite.
my first time playing hammered dulcimer live
This is an excerpt of our performance in the X international film fest of Estepona. I'm performing "Away (reprise), an accoustic unplugged variation of my song "Away" featured in ancient Shadows This reprise is only performed live and not included in the cd. The audio quality is really bad cos it was taken by the camera and it was behind the PA but for me it was a sweet moment as it's the first time I play hammered dulcimer on stage. I'm a newbie with this instrument that I'm now learning (I normally play piano or flute when performing) so it was for me sweet to adapt the piano into this instrument. So non perfect as it is here we go. The cellist in front is my friend and band member Biel Fiol, flute played by Gerard Alís and pad by Héctor Corcín
I'll be performing next weekend at the CINEMA FEST OF ESTEPONA
Guests include Dolph Lungren (Masters of Universe, Universal Soldier), Buffy Vampire slayer´s acts and the premier of many fantasy and scifi serials in spain.
I'll be performing in the closing ceremony next saturday 12th. For me it's exciting as it's the first time i'll bring the hammered dulcimer on stage
so line up as follows:
Me: voice, low whistle, double ocarina, windband, hammered dulcimer, keyboards, composition
Gerard Alís: tin whistle, bodhran, percussion
Héctor Corcín: keyboards, video projection control
Biel Fiol: Cello
Hope to get some shots or recording

We won two awards last weekend :)
BEST NEW AGE ALBUM (Ancient Shadows) and best new age song (Away) in the JUST PLAIN FOLKS AWARDS IN NASHVILLE. In the ceremony there were 30 performances among the nominees but as we´re based in spain we coudn't attend, having missed the television broadcast I had to wait a little for the official list of winners but yay we won it. In the awards entered 560000 songs so we were pretty shocked to have this new price adding to our previous mentions :)
also wanted to tell that I'm performing in next FAERIECON next november, during the BAD FAERY BALL :)
TICKETS can be purchased in faeriecon official site

Oh, Priscilla! What great news!! I know how hard it is to win the Just Plain Folks award. That really is phenomenal as there are half a million songs entered (& sometimes more!). And to think you won it! Wow-eee! |
