My partner and I went for a walk in the local woods on sunday. It was a lovely bright afternoon and all around were signs of spring. Small buds and blossom appearing on tree branches, and tiny green curls poking through the ground. These woods are a favourite place of ours and put on an amazing show of bluebells every year. We saw the green leaves of the bluebells coming up all around and in a few weeks there will be a wonderous carpet of blue!!!
As we were wondering along, we came to a clearing were there are lots of pine trees and a bench under an oak tree that looks down a hill. All over the ground were the most perfect pine cones. I just HAD to collect some to take home. Being the crazy arty type I can never go for a walk without collecting things, be it sea shells, pine cones, stones or twigs. Once I had filled my two small pockets, I decided I still wanted more but how to carry them? I didn't have a bag with me. Then it occured to me to make a sling out of my cardigan!
My partner Martin laughed at me, a crazy hippy woman collecting pine cones in her cardigan! But that's why he loves me. LOL
The pine cones are now in a basket in our living room. Now they are in a warm and dry place they keep making popping sounds as they open up. I think I will use them to make decorations for next yule. :)
I have just completed a new piece of artwork. It is called 'Dryad' and is an experiment using colour pencils on pastel paper which is different to my usual watercolours.

Hello
I thought I would just write a little update as I haven't done so for a while. The festive season was quite chaotic with my day job taking full prority but I am starting work on new art soon so watch this space...
Springtime is in the air and the sunshine is making a welcome return to what has been a dull and grey winter here in England. I spied the bright and beautiful yellow petals of daffodils in front of my house this morning and I think the faeries are waking up too......
I have just discovered Enchanted Folk and what a wonderful place it is :)
Welcome to my page. My name is Esther and I am a Faery/Fantasy Artist from England.
I have always loved faeries and always loved to draw and paint and so, over the last couple of years, I have begun to spread my wings and share my art with the world. I have created my own website, started to sell prints of my work and take on commissions too. I am only at the beginning of my journey as a faery artist and there is much to explore. My aim is to become a full-time proffessional and see my work published some day.
I welcome new friends as well as anyone who's path I may have crossed before. A selection of my painitngs can be viewed here in my photos and for more art please visit my website. www.estherremmingtonart.com
Here I hope to share my journey and regularly update with new artwork. I also look forward to sharing thoughts and inspiration with all you Enchanted Folk :)
