    Raven Duology

Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 12:41 AM EST [General]

New book series by Patricia Briggs, a fantastic author.  The Raven's Duology is about aTraveler, like a gyspy, who gives up her life as a Raven (natural wizard) to marry and raise a family.  The magic in these books is so facinating based on orders which are names after birds. Raven-Mage, Comerant-Weather Witch, Lark-Healer, Falcon-Hunter, and Eagle-Guardian.  Seraph and her family are faced with the shadowed and they must prevail.  Great characters and story. Wonderful books.  I recommend Patricia's books, her Mercy Thompson books are also a wonderful series.

    New Love

Monday, January 14, 2008, 12:21 AM EST [General]

So I have been desperately searching for new books to read. I have read so many fantasy, horror and sci-fi books that I feel as if I have read them all.  So I am always looking for something new to tempt me.  I was in the bookstore the other day and this book caught my eye Book 1 of the Black Jewel Chronicles, Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop.  I could not put this book down, I devoured it in 2 days and since I go to school full time in an accelerated program and have 2 small children that is saying something.  I ordered the rest of the series before I even finished the first one.    I love this world, it is dark and exotic.  The magic system is different and the characters are so vivid and alive.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.  I am cursing the slowness of the USPS right now.
