About Me: Mostly a house husband these days though also an occasional musician of sorts vaguely known as Fleas. I play acoustic and sometimes electric guitar and was lucky enough to have been shown how to play many years ago by the late Mick Wayne. I also write songs and play naïve keyboards but of late I am endeavouring with poetry.

TV: Not sure if my over the knee stripy socks quite count, though I am reliably informed they do.

Likes: Endeavouring to write poems, playing guitar, rolling chalk hill land, woodlands, original art, craft and jewelry, musical instrements, Tarot and Runes, antiquarian books, real ales.
Dislikes: Being slightly dyslexic and leaving horrible spelling mistakes on the web for ages before realising.
    Hobbies:
    Vices: See likes.
    Virtues: Errr, urmmm, errr.
Heroes: My wife and sons who have to put up with all of the above and more.

    Lilith Be Her Smile.

    Thursday, May 29, 2008, 02:26 AM [General]

A screech of Owl from ancient Yew

    That echoes in the skulls

Of those who were the congregation

    Graves all smashed apart

    Where Belladonna preaches now

    And Ivy binds the tower

    Covering the stained lost saints

As Monks Hood chants the hour

He lay upon the broken alter

    Gazing to the sky

    Night velvet kiss breeze welcoming

    As Moonlight gently hides

The priestess strides to take him

    And Lilith be her smile

Their flesh becomes a passion vessel

    Overflowing wild

At peak of moment strikes him dead

    She takes his final breath

    Another soul forever rapture

    One with queen Lilith.

    A Hedgewytch Tree

    Wednesday, April 30, 2008, 01:43 PM [General]

A tightly twisted knot of darkness

Hides the reason deep by earth

Roots that feed from tearful seasons

    Overflowing Well of dirth

Moonrise draws the sap of sorrow

Moon ebb wanes yet sorrow grows

    Habitually the tree remains

A Hedgewytch of the old hedgerow

Bitter sweet to fruit from blossom

    Better left to rot unknown

On branches thrown in poise of torment

Shadows cast its tale of woe.

    A Sigil Awhile.

    Wednesday, April 23, 2008, 02:28 AM [General]

    With sun upon one hand

    Moon upon other

I stand as a sigil awhile

At once as a tree grows

From deep root the sap flows

    Rising and falling as tide

    Through sun moon and seasons

    To grow for a reason

    Other than ego or pride

    To keep ever with you

The view from your high hill

And living the ley as I stride

    Stood but a moment seemed

    Ever remembered dream

With sun and the moon for my eyes.

    A Faery Ring Fair.

    Monday, April 14, 2008, 03:37 PM [General]

    With Thyme in her pocket

    A chaplet of Violet

A sprig of the Goat Weed

    Worn in her hair

    A pinch of the Bay

    To open the way

    A Bluebell ring heralding

    A Faery ring fair

To dance in her Catkin gown

    Spider spun lace

    Mossy her shoes

    A smile on her face

    From dawn until dusk

    And dusk until dawn

At mid night and mid day

    A kiss for us all.

    Nothings There.

    Thursday, April 10, 2008, 06:28 AM [General]

    Flits within the corner eye

And disappears not to be spied

You search in vain your search it hides

It's grin you feel to your surprise

It's hard to catch or rationalize

    The glimpse of nothings there

A boggart be its name for sure

It came in through your open door

And likes your cupboard under stair

And there it's homely cluttered lair

And when you're all and fast asleep

    Out it slither tiptoe creeps

To muddle up your gentle dreams

    And loiters till you wake

You rise at morning rubbing eyes

There's something here or there you cry

A laughing sure you heard no lie

    A feeling you can't shake

All day it hovers just behind

The back of somewhere in your mind

You're sure you must be somehow blind

    To what or isn't there

    This elemental darkened sprite

Doesn't like the sun bright light

And feeling better in the garden

    Courage grows and senses harden

    Then a twinkling glint idea

I'll tidy out my under stairs

And later in the darkling eve

You find the Boggarts taken leave.

Glad I could provide some info. Even if you aren't in the US it could affect you, if your work will ever be seen in the US, or sold here. Or so I would guess. I know John Howe has a lot of problems with the act as well. His website has an article that might be good for you, since he'd be in the same situation as you.

    The link

I'll be posting an update when the bill gets a number assigned so people can send their representatives letters. I know that doesn't exactly work for you but I'm sure you could pass it along to any US natives who may have missed it.

Greetings dear Fleas, I just noticed that you are a fellow (Chinese year of the) Wood Dragon, how cool is that! Thank you so much for bringing your amazing poems to EF and sharing your great pictures too, we really value you as part of this community. Although I was born in London, I was brought up on, inland, chalk downs and also associate them with visiting grandparents by the sea - 'are we nearly there yet?' - happy memories...
Big smiles, Be (maybe I should name my aforementioned dragon)
