    The July and August Fairies

    Monday, June 30, 2008, 06:05 PM [General]

The two most playful fairies of the month's
    are in August and July.
Spending there days in games and fun
as they soar in the summer sky.
    How irresponsible and so carefree
    these twin sisters have become.
With not a concern nor worry in the world
on how anything is to be done.
Children these two will forever be
    never wishing to fully mature.
Pranks and jokes and fooling around
    while achieving nothing more.
Sometimes in play they can go too far
till Mother Natures nerves are worn.
Scolding the two for there childish ways
in the form of a thunderstorm.
But still there nature is the summer
    a careless time to live.
A chance to fiddle and frolic
a diversion from life's worries it gives.
And who hasn't felt the stir within
to step back a couple of years.
Most when hearing the sound of playing children
    ringing within the ears.
For Mother Nature this is the very reason
she lets them play there little games.
Summer is made for all children
without them it wouldn't be the same.

    The Summer Fairy

    Friday, June 20, 2008, 09:27 PM [General]

Honey blond hair of the summer fairy shines
with a radiant glow like the sun filled sky.
And when in lightning flashes of the darkest storm
reflect her wet tresses as they gently dry.
The mountains, valleys and hills are green and alive
as she soars high above so carefree.
A princess whose kingdom is a warm bright world
streching as far as the eye can see.
Blessed with flight made on silken wings
extending beyond the reach of her arms.
Making also her way on light graceful bare feet
a dancer skilled at performing her charms.
Clothed in white linen and of silks and of lace
her gowns are made to adorn such a queen.
Freshly picked flowers make up her royal crown
a lovely vision born from a beautiful dream.
If by chance you were to stop and give your self-rest
a need the soul cries for after drearier days.
You may indeed glimpse the pure essence of summer
as she passes through the suns golden rays

    The Woodsman

    Friday, June 6, 2008, 07:46 AM [General]

Saw a picture on James site called Knotling-watercolor, it's probably not what he had in mind but this is what I saw.
Out to the woods into the quiet and still
where streams snake through valleys and all kind of hill.
So deep and so far even forest beast lost there way
at the last place sky decides to give night over to day.
Nothings been touched since given its place
nothings been added and nothing erased.
Finding a patch left neglected and bare
I made it my rest and began my long stare.
Under natures hypnotic trance my spirit was soothed
I surrendered my self to never again move.
My form stole day and replaced it with night
the shade I had made blocked life-giving light.
To my back was the child of a mighty oak tree
forced to mature so it also could see.
Accepting my presence I was held in the trees hug
in bark I stayed safe from the winds galling tug.
Time lost its count it's meaning and grip
still I still was observing eternities slip.
Shared is one body of wood and green leaves
shelters a content soul at peace and at ease.

    The June Fairy

    Saturday, May 31, 2008, 05:24 PM [General]

Blue sky is covered in patches of white
    casting shadows on the ground.
The wind rustles trees full of leaves
stirring birds as they fly around.
Blue is also the color in wing and dress
for the fairy of the month of June.
Dark as the ocean is the shade of her wings
and her gown is as pale as the moon.
Shoes with heels and open toe
held on with a winging ribbon tie.
A silken bow ties back her rich dark hair
making flight easy as she takes to the sky.
Summer takes over near the end of her reign
fare well to the season of spring.
So too is a holiday thrown for the most special of men
with praises befitting an honored king.
The fairy is happy to see the fatherly reunions
and the precious moments the family share.
Children know what makes a man a father
it is in the every day way he cares.
