Because of the recient hurricanes and subsequent rain I wrote this for my granddaughter. Thought I'd share it with the all The Enchanted Folks.
I looked upon a sunny skyAll around the ground was dryThen came a cloud my wayI wondered if it would stayOr would it go drifting by.Another cloud joined the onePerhaps they would have some funWay up in the sky of blueOne by one is the twoAround they danced a sunny sun.Way up high above meAnother cloud did I seeJust as fluffy and just as roundWas the shape of the cloudThis one makes number three. And like what happened just beforeDrifted in cloud number fourThey made cloudy the sunny dayAs they blocked the sunny raysI wonder what they had in store. The sun went away to hideWhen it saw cloud number fiveTiny drops came pouring downMaking wet the once dry groundThis is what keeps things alive.Drifting off so very slowIs the way the clouds did goAnd washed everything so cleanThe grass was a greener greenAnd left behind a bright rainbow|

Like your poem, your grandaughter must really appreciate having such a talented Grandad. We are still waiting for summer to arrive, we have had the wettest summer on record here in the UK. |
