    The Fall Fairy

    Monday, September 22, 2008, 05:24 AM [General]

Crunching beneath a high heeled shoe
the falling leaves blanket her way.
Ushering in the instincts of those who will go
and prepairing the remainder that stay.
In a glorious display the colors are changed
just before all must shed of there leaves.
Both great and small take notice to the signs
birds migrate departing the bare trees.
Cool grows the air as it strokes her red mane
and blows her dress of seasons shade.
The fairy of fall observes the harvest come in
feeling at peace as the warm gently fades.
Silken wings made like the scattered leaves
    camouflage this maiden of thanksgiving.
And from the fruits of labor she ushers in
the gifts of fullness and joy found in one's living.
