Because of the recient hurricanes and subsequent rain I wrote this for my granddaughter. Thought I'd share it with the all The Enchanted Folks.
I looked upon a sunny skyAll around the ground was dryThen came a cloud my wayI wondered if it would stayOr would it go drifting by.Another cloud joined the onePerhaps they would have some funWay up in the sky of blueOne by one is the twoAround they danced a sunny sun.Way up high above meAnother cloud did I seeJust as fluffy and just as roundWas the shape of the cloudThis one makes number three. And like what happened just beforeDrifted in cloud number fourThey made cloudy the sunny dayAs they blocked the sunny raysI wonder what they had in store. The sun went away to hideWhen it saw cloud number fiveTiny drops came pouring downMaking wet the once dry groundThis is what keeps things alive.Drifting off so very slowIs the way the clouds did goAnd washed everything so cleanThe grass was a greener greenAnd left behind a bright rainbowThe September Fairy

Though still warm a change is felt and with very good reasonThe summer days fade away to usher in the new fall seasonCool becomes the night after the suns last parting raysThis fairy enjoys the dying gasp of the final hot sunny daysSweeping wings of sapphire and gold radiates like jewels fit for a queenIn reds many shades and sparkling gold she dresses to be seenTake notice of the sky for that time between day and nightShe puts on a dazzling display and a breath taking sightFor as it was said the fairy of September is seen to impressThe last light of sun rise and set passes through her wings and dressTake the opportunity of a moment and around you you will seeThat magic is every ware and available all for free

Dream Home

I tried to participate in DreamDeers dream experiment but as usual I could not get to sleep. However my mind did it's usual wanderings and because I was concentrating on this subject I did come up with this. I probably seen this in a movie or picture some ware, who knows. Now, I wonder if any one else had the same vision last night. In a way that would kinda be the same, sort of.
Once upon a time in a failed evening's sleep.I resorted to counting proverbial sheep. While a waiting for dreams to enter my head.I tossed and turned all night in my bed.Peering out from hiding beneath my pillow.I stared at the alarm clock's dark amber glow.Dawn's soft rays signaled the passing of night.Still I still lay as a corpse at a burial site.In my struggle for rest was a vision or two.Aside matters financial and things still to do.I imagined a home built on the edge of a dream.Between shadows of dark and light's twin extreme.Above swirled a sky like a gathering storm. In a far away center glowed a circular form.Mixed was the noise of birds and harsh angry wind.Called also echoing voices desperately determined. The structure resided on thick moss covered ground.Far away trees silhouetted a top rocky high mounds.Beyond the gray shadows was a deepening void.Dwelled wishes abandoned and ware hope is destroyed. The wood shingled cottage with it's chimney of stone. Was rustically quaint as it sat all alone.A flicker of candles illuminated a pathway. And beckoned me closer to the lonely chalet. An errand thought quickly passed, I lost my hold on this place.Leaving broken glimpses in my mind's darkened space. For what ever it was and for what ever it means.Still resides in a shack at the edge of my dreams.Tags:
What Do Fairies Dream?
Thursday, August 21, 2008, 05:31 PM [General]
trieded to add this to DreamDeer's group Dreamer's Fair but the poem's look was not what I wanted. Still here is my contribution from a far and what I hope fits in with her vision.
The blur of earlier fades slowly away,As I retire with my family at the end of the day.A parent's life is a challenge each day a small test.Suprised I was not as I laid my young to rest."I know how silly and stange this may seem, but when asleep what is it that fairies dream?"A question only an innocent child can ask.To hide behind a lie is easy the truth was a true task.Who could I speak with and ware could I look?Is it in an ancient fable hidden in a forgotten book?Or was it told in tales said in days gone by?A fool's errand I was on but still I had to try.For some strange reason I felt I needed to know.Spurned on by a compulsion that would not let me go.Late became the day; this secret would have to keep.Still in my thoughts it was carried to the land of sleep.Shaken from my slumber by a presence in my bed."Are you awake?" Whispered a child closely to my head."This is the day you promised and I can hardly wait, the sun has already risen and it's starting to grow very late. The bees will have gathered the pollen and the dew will be all dry. There'll be nothing left to collect if we don't get out and fly."Remembering my promise, my child and everything I see.And another child and another life, two seperate realities. But the look in my child's eyes as we took to flight.Made me realize this was my life and not the dream of last night.Peacefully I fell to sleep later that same day.Anxous to see the other child for I knew just what to say.Questioning as before but this time the answer I knew."What fairies dream about sweetheart are children just like you."Tags:
The Ravens Call
Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 09:20 PM [General]
This was inspired by Janices piece, Calling the Ravens.
From high on top a mountain's peak a castle stands alone. An evil winged princess sits waiting on her throne. Then just as the legend told came a prophesy fulfilled.Defeated were the crystal guardians by warriors greatly skilled.Delivered by her minions was an orb of awesome power. She took her place to give the chant at the sacred hour.Parting were the shielding clouds that were as dark as night.By a force that emanated in a blinding light.Goddess of nature and of man this she could foresee.Calling to her subjects she gave her first decree."My children I now summon thee to do as I command. As you have ruled the skies so to we shall the land. The time has come to reap what earlier has been sown."As the raven queen held high the glowing crystal stone."Who shall dare oppose us none will even try.All shall cower on there knees fearing they may die.Now go and do my bidding spread fear to one and all."Her wicked laugh was hardly heard above the raven's call.Within her hand the crystal pulsed and started to get warm. The clouds returned and the rain of a thunderstorm.Tossed about by galling winds over cliff is ware she fell.Decending she recalled what the legend tried to tell.Make nature do against creation broke the highest law.A lesson learned though last and late from her deadly fall.Over countless ages a wounded nature still remains unhealed. For even to this day comes calling ravens to the farmers fields.Tags:
