    The June Fairy

    Saturday, May 31, 2008, 05:24 PM [General]

Blue sky is covered in patches of white
    casting shadows on the ground.
The wind rustles trees full of leaves
stirring birds as they fly around.
Blue is also the color in wing and dress
for the fairy of the month of June.
Dark as the ocean is the shade of her wings
and her gown is as pale as the moon.
Shoes with heels and open toe
held on with a winding ribbon tie.
A silken bow ties back her rich dark hair
making flight easy as she takes to the sky.
Summer takes over near the end of her reign
fare well to the season of spring.
So too is a holiday thrown for all men
with praises befitting an honored king.
The June fairy is happy to see the fatherly reunions
and the precious moments the families share.
Children know the difference beween a man a father
it is in the every day way he cares.

    A Dragon Not

    Sunday, May 18, 2008, 07:30 AM [General]

This is my take on Art Sorceress's picture contest. I started to post it in her comments but it would not fit right. I hope she as well as all of you like.
In a time long forgotten, in a kingdom of dreams, there once lived a terrible nightmare.
Hiding in the deep woods, was a dragon and fairy; the beast spoke for his story to share.
"On leathery wing, is a gift and a curse, the ability to take to the sky.
For on land I am prey, though no one I've hurt, and so that is the reason I fly.
Under a punishing spell, I've had to leave my land, the place I once called my home.
To seek refuge from others, and a chance for a cure, so far and wide I've had to roam.
For once long ago, when I lived as a man, I was the affection of another's queen.
As revenge the king made, a wizard to change, to a beast as I now seem."
The fairy took pity, for she could see in his heart, and spoke to his troubled soul.
"Fear not for I too possess, magical spells, that can once again make you whole.
Trouble not from the pain, for there shall be none," as she waved the spell from her hand.
Bolts of bright light, bathed the false dragon, and changed him back into a man.
"What can I say? What can I do?" The man wished to thank her for what she had done.
"It's just my way," the fairy said with a smile, "What I do I'd do for anyone."
This tales moral is this, judge not what you see, but do as your heart tells you to do.
And to others be kind, for the day may soon come, when a need may befall upon you.

    A Fairies Lamentation

    Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 05:20 PM [General]

A small tribute and thanks to Giovanna and her art.
Beginning as always, at the last place to be found.
Where the dark is so brilliant, where noise does not make a sound.
I've been to the far away fields, there the flowers grow bright.
Near the first place on Earth, to catch morning's new light.
Playing hide and go seek, with the clouds and the sun.
And racing the wind, till the last breeze has been done.
Then further way up on high, where the nighttime belongs.
To dance among twinkling stars, to evening's soft quiet song.
I've lived in houses and homes, built on shifting quick sand.
Places unseen and unknown, in strange distant lands.
But the place I most love, is in the dreams of deep sleep.
A realm where magic is done, through the wishes you keep.
For what you can imagine, is to me made so real.
I hunger for your desire, and breath what you feel.
I am as natural as nature, a winged woman of beauty.
A fantasy for a life time, and best known as a fairy.

    Fairy festival '08

    Saturday, May 3, 2008, 07:46 PM [General]

Pictures and poetry dedicated to Rdehwyll who could not make it this year.
    The Festival
Cool was the air under damp springtime skies,
held was a festival complete with fairy disguise.
Traveling once again as I've done so before,
to purchase from merchants in canopied stores.
While there I feasted on foods found in no other place,
and gazed at fair maidens adorned with color stroked face.
Dresses flowing and corsets, boots, sandals and wings,
some with as lovely a friend, some with sutor or king.
I with my love, who I adore as my wife,
who shares these moments made special, and every part of my life.
Took time to acquaint with artist and shop,
till fatigue and long day, gave us reason to stop.
Wearily we followed the crowd's flow with our bundles and bags,
along with captured day's images and scratched names on torn tags.
Then one final glance from the peak of a steep hill,
down to the streaming flags wave and music breaking the still.
Then in love's warm embrace I said to the one I hold dear,
"Parking is far when we're late, let's make it earlier next year."

    The May Fairy

    Wednesday, April 30, 2008, 05:23 PM [General]

Together this month the fairies join
some come from far and near.
Not only to honor mother nature
but all mothers who are as dear.
Set apart from the many fairies
in her gown of fancy dress.
Lavender and pink she's silken wrapped
    shimmering unlike all the rest.
And when this month's fairy ruler speaks
it is in song she sings.
For fairies know that words are not enough
to express all a mother brings.
    So the gathered angelic daughters
make the world beautiful in every way.
Coaxing flowers to bloom and birds to sing
all for a holiday that happens in May.
