An ode to the wonderful memories of a summer sweet Merry Meet!

An amazing Arboretum within the greenness of the stunning Cotswolds countryside was the meeting place for this terrific event on the blessing of summer solstice.  Oh thank you Amanda for your cunning plan to brighten our lives and celebrate the joy of having enchanted folk in our lives.  The pleasure of meeting those special faery kind who fly across the electronic wires, leaving a web of happiness where err they go. What more could a enchanted folk wish for, than to meet those that enchant and enrich their own lives.

Slowly the faces arrived, bright shiny faery faces, matched by their wonderful personalities and caring souls pouring over the garlands and fine clothing.  Oh yes Mr Frizbee, you were right to be weary of hidden ball games and food fights, for when such enchanted folk play, even the trees join in.

What fun the trees did provide,  adventures, green tipi's for den's, faery doors and when we were tired they twisted their arms and played shadow puppets on the lush green grass around them, while we rested in their shelter.  Others sculpted their arms to enthral us with their agility, while their leaves blushed red like beetroot, shying from the attention and affection that was directed at them,  while we asked them to pose for photographs.

Our shared picnic time was held at a table that overlooked a valley, where in the misty green distance an English estate house stood guard, while fish eagles, falcons and owls provided a wonderful natural air display for our entertainment.  Oh how blessed we were to share such an enchanted feast, a wonder to share wonderful enchanted conversations and enriched laughter that ballooned around us, bursting in the smiles on our faces and joyous tales.

After lunch we continued to play with the trees, on a quest to find that elusive Japanese rest house, which we only just managed to catch a glimpse of, before the sands of time requested our leave.  Trees can be such a tease at times.  Leaving upon well trodden feet we left the weary trees to doze yet again.  As we weaved our way in convoy through lanes and roads, we crossed the borders of urbanisation briefly,  only to arrive at mysterious dell deep within the enchanted world that only such enchanted folk can see.  Here amid the tall grasses we entered a magical and mystical musical house, that drummed in rhythm to the weather God, who had been so kind to us all day.   The house is set deep in this faery kingdom, far away from the grim reality of a urban universe that runs in parallel misery along a path of turmoil.  As we entered the chorus of musical instruments waited patiently in recesses in anticipation, while fairies peeked from every nook and cranny at the strange enchanted folk that arrived in their merry world.

Our senses were awoken as a dinner was made by the magical skills of a great faery cook, the enticing smells made our tummy's sing in expectation.  Enchanted children played, sang and their giggles and tales made the evening a desert of merry enrichment nourished by the magical spells of conversation.   The food when we sat together to share our blessings, was a divine natural gift blended and moulded in a spectacular fashion that a king would be humbled by.  It was the foundation of a fascinating time of jolly conversation, washed down with the happiness of laughing together.  The evening drifted like tales of old into the morning and all too soon the sands of time started to pour into our eyes, forcing us to rest our smiles and succumb to the comfortable beds that wrapped us in peace.  While outside the weather God played more tunes to sooth and relax our souls.

When dawn broke across this enchanted universe, she found us fast asleep, enjoying dreams entwined with memories of the perfect day before.  Cocooned within the warmth of this magical family we awoke to a morning of happiness and contentment.

So thank you to all those enchanted folk that made this merry meet a wonderful celebration of natural beauty.   A thank you to must go to Mother Nature her self, who provided us with such wondrous moments and such splendid entertainment.  She enchanted us all with her two tiny fawns as a blessing before we had to leave and return to our own enchanted homes.

May the next Merry Meet be not too far away, for a day without faery friendship, is a day not fully lived...

Thank you to you all for a wonderful and enchanted time!
