About Me:I am an aspiring writer and work full-time as a Risk Analyst in the corporate arena. I'm a wife, mom and dog lover. I appreciate life and all it offers, and believe in the universal power that lies within.
Music:I am most content listening to music that inspires love, peace, and tranquility. I'm partial to Celtic music, and ethereal sounding melodies - Enya. The Harry Potter soundtrack is wonderful, as well as The Lord of The Rings. There are hundreds of classical pieces that elevate my heart to the realms of bliss. MUSE Rocks!
Movies:Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian, Fairytale, Elf, Arthur & The Invisibles, The Seeker, Willow, Enchanted, Working Girl, Stardust, The Princess Bride, Gone With The Wind, A Pocket Full of Miracles, Anything with Fred Astair and Ginger Rodgers.
TV:I don't watch TV. The news is evil.
Books:This will take too long to list, but Harry Potter books are my all-time favorite. I bow to you J.K. You too, Dickens.
Likes:Anything that perpetuates goodness and high energies. Dogs & Wolves - my kindred spirits. Meditation. Crystals. Faeries.
Dislikes:Anything that permeates negative thought or action.
Hobbies:Writing and reading.
Vices:Trader Joe's Almond Biscotti with Irish breakfast tea every morning. I'm a dunker!
Virtues:Loving, peaceable, nurturing, truthful, and generally cheerful.
Heroes:My son, my husband, my mom, J.K. Rowling, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Mother Mary, Archangel Michael.
FYI Folks - the moon hasn't done this since 1638. Change is on the way. Tonight would be a good time to do affirmations, visualizations and some smudging. Let's manifest intentions of love, light, and peace to be felt throughout the world, to illuminate those filled with darkness. Let's envision peace filtering through the lands of Mother Earth. Let's be well within ourselves, so we can be well with and for others. Don't let negativity robe you of inherent magic. It's all within you. It's all within us.
Gosh - I'm cringing. I can't believe its been over a year since I visited this site. YIKES! Forgive me for dropping off the face of the earth. I'll have to blame this one on the faeries. They must have led me through that magic door in the gnarled, wise oak outside. (I wish).
Book, book, book. Yes, I've been writing intently. Just to give you all an update, I've been working with an editor and we decided that the book I already wrote will now become book II in a series. Book I will encompass the faerie history, the roots if you will. My editor thought it best to show the beginnings of faerie, where they came from, their customes, habits and all that cool stuff. So...that has been the reason for my reclusive behavior. My apologies. I assure you its all in the name of good reading pleasure.
Some of the characters have morphed and some have gone into hibernation. The book's title has also changed, which I will not disclose until its time for the unveiling. A summary has been completed in grave detail and once I start the actual writing process, I believe it will take a few months to complete -- give or take.
I won't bore you with the pain-staking details, but its been quite a trip writing a book. I never realized the amount of work that goes into such a laborous task. Although I wish I could do it full-time, having to pay a mortgage as well as three hundred and sixty five other bills, I'm prevented from doing so. Alas I must spend my days staring at Security Exceptions and spreadsheets and web requests. Blah, blah, blah. But I have faith. One day soon that will all go away. (Where's that dang faerie dust when you need it?)
Anyway, that said, I would like to bid you all a wonderful, magical, scintillating holiday season. May your new year be filled with hopes and dreams made manifest. May your smile brighten and may others smile upon you. Love and peace to each and every one of you. Let it warm your bones and soothe your soul. Drink it in deeply--the spirit--the rhythm--the rhyme of life.
Forgive me, but it's been too long since I've been around. I've been swallowed by the book faerie - yes, he's that big!
To give you guys an update, I've been rewriting the book and working with some wonderful people to get this project off the ground and published. I don't think I have much farther to go, but you will be the first to know when it's done.
There's a new website address for the book: ldcardoso.com And the title of the book has been changed from The Dream Trust, to: Flutter
If you have a chance, please visit the parked "coming soon" page. Suzanne Farmer was gracious enough to bless me with an artistic creation for my website home page, which I hope will one day become the book cover. Once the site goes live (keep your fingers crossed), you'll be able to also enjoy the artwork of Julie Jeffrey. She has created my ARA - the faerie protagonist of the book. Boy, is she beautiful! There are also a few artists, with whom are my personal friends, who have rendered a few other characters and have made contributions to my up and coming site. Kreeb, the villian; The Gremble Wee - a strange forest inhabitant; and a few others will be soon making their debut appearance.
What a winter! It felt never-ending. I'm exhausted from the 4:00am early rise. A fourth re-write was not something I was expecting. The first two chapters have been completely cut and done over. I think the faeries are very happy with the edits though. I've also relocated and reorganized my writing space to the cool calm of the basement. I've surrounded my area with candles, crystals, books, my favorite faery and wolf pictures, and valued trinkets.
I've been working with artist Julie Jeffrey to come up with a sketch of the main character who used to be Charity, but has now been deemed Ariannah. Better - right? Anyway, Julie did a wonderful job. Hopefully, I will post a preview for everyone soon.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new Harry Potter movie this summer. Its been a long time coming. Too long if you ask me!
I'm off to take a hot bath and meditate. Going to settle in and watch The Bucket Club with a nice glass of merlot.
Now that 2008 is nothing more than a shadow in the wood, take time to reflect on all the friendships, experiences, and opportunities this year has served as our wisened host. Good or bad, I'm sure we've all gained a new facet to the gem within.
As we catapult into 2009, let's not give resolution to breakable action, but rather resolve the carelessness that has put our earth in such peril. Take up cause like a sword. Be a Knight, Princess, or Fae. Give back to the earth and mankind. There is a garden of hope to choose from. Pick any color or size you want and expand your soul.
I hope some day we can meet. I am saving up for a trip to a Fairy Con, so perhaps some day!
Until then I will send you a cup of my new Jasmine tea in my thoughts :)
I visited your site, it's lovely!
regarding NEWS FLASH: SPRYWITS RECIPE STOLEN FROM TOLLYMORE VAULTS
I think it might be one of the nasty trolls who did it.
Thank you for stopping by my booth at FaerieCon, it was so nice to meet you in person. I had meant to send you to Diana Zimmerman's booth as she is an author and a genuinely dear person. But in all the hustle and bustle, I forgot! I hope maybe you found your way to her, anyway! I had a great time there and hope you did, too. Keep in touch,
Hello Linda & warm welcomes to our community =) thank you for joining, sharing & trusting us with your dreams here. I wish you much good fortune as you head towards publishing, & love the 'Be' phrases at the end of your website 'About LD' section *big smiles* {I'm delighted to say that dear Amy Brown kindly introduced me to Irish Breakfast Tea a few years ago & it was the nearest I could get to the taste of my beloved home brew whilst in the US, grin} I appreciate your pretty EF page ~ Keep Living In the Magic...
Friendly waves from a fellow JKR fan, to you in Long Island,
