It's a real departure to go back to Nene's early work and start making figurines from it - Interesting.
Have you seen the new Amy Brown Signature Series pieces up close?

I am worried about how big this piece in respect to the others. I means aria is big compared to the others in my collection and it does put me off her a a bit but I love her dress.

    Still annoyed about the tattoo...

    Sorcerers Forum

Monday, May 5, 2008, 06:35 PM GMT [General]

Since December i've had so much trouble with my forum, it's been running so slow and having lots of down time :( i had it served by Invisionplus who were fantastic to start with but over time they promised the world but gave nothing!

So! i took the plunge and got a phpbb3 forum that i could host entirely on my own. I've spent over a week preparing it and it's meant that i've finaly got a forum that actually matches my website at long last :D it's gone down really well with the dragon & fairy collectors too!

It'a funny how something so simple as setting up a new forum can lift your mood :)

So if any of you collect fantasy figures and fancy chatting about them, you'd be more than welcome to join in the chat :D http://thesorcererslibrary.com/tslforum there's not much content at the moment because i've left 2 years worth of threads and over 50 thousand posts behind but i'm hoping that this will be a fresh start for the forum and site :)

just saying i'm still around :)

Monday, April 7, 2008, 06:07 PM GMT [General]

It's been a little while since i posted anything in here but i keep checking in :) it still feels strange when i log in and see my name in the "Featured Enchanted Folk" list :) i must post more in here!

I was going to post a picture I drew for another site for a fun Easter Dragon page but it's just not good enough when compared to the high quality stuff on here done by professionals, and since i'm not on here as an artist i thought i'd not embarrass myself :D

    mermaids pt2

Friday, March 7, 2008, 08:59 PM GMT [General]

Just a quick post to say thanks to the few who replied to my mermaid question :)

Going on the replies and the many replies i got from elsewhere, it looks like there is a market for mermaid figurines but nowhere near as big as the market for Fairies or Dragons and most men (even those who collect faerie figurines) seem to really dislike them and funnily enough the women who don't like them 'really' don't like them!

    Mermaids... Yes or No?

Thursday, February 28, 2008, 07:26 PM GMT [General]

I asked this question on my forum and got the answer i was expecting but i thought i'd ask it here too.

what are your thoughts on mermaids? would you buy mermaid figurines?

I have the Enchantica piece Olm & Sylphen but i really don't care for it! I just got it because i was a completest at the time

I ask mainly because i've noticed that a large amount of faerie artists also do a fair few Mermaids too and i was wondering if there was a market for them!

Would I buy mermaids--yes--I have some already. Mermaids are beautiful & haunting at the same time. I love everything of the mystical nature. It allows me to escape into a world a few steps away. I love the world of fairies & mermaids, etc.

I collect mermaid items, but not disney or the cheap repro type ones that seem to be everywhere at the moment. I have a particular liking for merman themed items, when I can find them...

I also sometimes create mermaid and merman items.

The shop i work at sells faerie and mermaid figurines,we only stock a few mermaids as faeries seem more popular but there do still seem to be people that want mermaids.I personaly usualy like faerie or dragon figurines best but would buy a mermaid if i liked it and wasn't too pricey!

Wow....you are a busy one! Thanks for looking into my little dragons, I am newer to this 'blogging' stuff. I just need to find ways to get my Elemental Drgons story out there (and maybe get some sells). This groups seems to one of the nicer ones that I have run into.
    THANKS!!

I totally understand what you're saying about the old Amy Brown Signature Series pieces - the inconsistency in quality has caused us no end of difficulties in the past but having said that people do still want to collect them. There is no comparison between the new and the old.
Since we have collected many dragonsite pieces ourselves and obviously have the new Amy Brown pieces as well, I can honestly say that I think the new pieces are of an extremely high standard in both the quality of the resin used and the paint work. I think the detail is far better than that of the most recent Dragonsite pieces I have seen.

    Hi John,
Munro had talked about continuing to add to my range for Dragonsite, and had a few artworks already picked out, but I haven't heard from them for a long time. I am hoping they will, of course!
From what I've heard about Pacific Trading the stuff they are doing with artists at the moment is pretty good, certainly a lot better than some manufacturers. Maybe not as amazing as Munros, but up there. I haven't seen my samples yet from that range in person, so I'll know more then.
    Thanks for your interest!
