It's been a little while since i posted anything in here but i keep checking in :) it still feels strange when i log in and see my name in the "Featured Enchanted Folk" list :) i must post more in here!
I was going to post a picture I drew for another site for a fun Easter Dragon page but it's just not good enough when compared to the high quality stuff on here done by professionals, and since i'm not on here as an artist i thought i'd not embarrass myself :D
Just a quick post to say thanks to the few who replied to my mermaid question :)
Going on the replies and the many replies i got from elsewhere, it looks like there is a market for mermaid figurines but nowhere near as big as the market for Fairies or Dragons and most men (even those who collect faerie figurines) seem to really dislike them and funnily enough the women who don't like them 'really' don't like them!

I asked this question on my forum and got the answer i was expecting but i thought i'd ask it here too.
what are your thoughts on mermaids? would you buy mermaid figurines?
I have the Enchantica piece Olm & Sylphen but i really don't care for it! I just got it because i was a completest at the time
I ask mainly because i've noticed that a large amount of faerie artists also do a fair few Mermaids too and i was wondering if there was a market for them!
I think i've seen enough faeries over the last few weeks to last me for months! :D i've spent all that time bringing my website (http://www.thesorcererslibrary.com) upto date with all the latest releases from thedragonsite, i've revamped & updated the Nene Thomas, Jessica Galbreth, Sheila Wolk, Bridget Ashwood & Linda Biggs sections, I've also added new sections for the figurines based on Selina Fenech, Ruth Thompson & Jacqueline Collen-Tarrollys artwork! all can be found here - http://www.thesorcererslibrary.com/TSL/Dragonsite/ds_mainpage.htm
I think i need to concentrate on the dragons again now :D

I recently bought a tutorial DVD by Wendy Froud in which you can watch her sculpt, dress & paint one of her faery doll figures from beginning to end! Me and a friend watched it the other week and we were transfixed in front of the TV! I personally wasn't really interested in the dressing the figure section but the sculpting absolutely facinated me! You see her mix the Fimo, make an armature, sculpt the face, hands & legs etc... watching her sculpt hands is something i've watched over and over and it still amazes me how simple she makes it look! i'm sure i just sit there everytime with my mouth open and watching her create an eye in seconds is fantastic! it goes from a closed eye to realistic open eye in the... well... blink of an eye actually! the DVD is just full of useful tips! i'm just in awe!!
