I hope you enjoy some of the work I've posted. I'm in the midst of a fairy book right now, so what you'll see are some of the initial sketches. Most of them aren't complete, only a small sample of what has become a major project. I've always felt that much fairy work focuses more on the delicate and sweet. I try to delve into the primordial forest, and the fairie's connection to it, so some of the work is a bit primal or intense. I work traditionally for the most part, no photoshop, the color work is all dry-brush watercolor and the pencil work, well, it's pencil. Feel free to visit my site www.tonysansevero.com and my flickr site for more of a range of my art, personal photos, and photography. I work from photos, so there are also sets of the many adults and children who pose as fairies for my paintings-
Part of what I do professionally is create fantasy or 'personality' portraits. These usually capture the visual features of the client, but also aspects of their psyche. Below are three images, all watercolor. Cat Queen. 30x40 -This client's animal guide is the tiger, which she has as a tattoo on her back, but generally she's connected to all cats. Elements.Fire- 4ft.x6ft-Dagni has her own reasons for wanting to transformed into the element of Fire, which she didn't share with me, but she didn't really have to. The painting is very large, approximately 4ftx6ft Prometheus- 20x30- Logan is a metal artist, here he's pictured as Prometheus, stealing the creative fires from the gods, to give to mankind. He did this partly in trade, he's a great fairy model and you'll see him in much of my work.
I visit a lot of schools and talk about art. I have a popular dragon drawing program and this is one of the dragon watercolors which I've turned into posters for the kids. It's a big hit with boys and gals alike. Hope you enjoy-
