    About My Avatar

Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 12:47 PM EST [General]

Amanda asked, so here's the deal:

I'm a gardener and typically go out every morning to water and weed and pick and mess around in general.  The morning I took the picture, I was in sock feet and feeling lazy, so instead of peeling off my socks, I just stuck my feet into some flipflops.  While out among the beds, I decided they needed watering (my irrigation system wasn't in yet), so I grabbed the hose and started spraying, not thinking that the soil would kick up under the spray.

I wish it was a better story, one that involved gathering sharks' teeth or sitting too close to my tootsie-warming dragon instead of being one about a lazy gardener who ruins footwear, but there you have it.

    Question About A Candleholder

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 11:11 PM EST [General]

I posted a (long, drawn-out) question about picking out a good candleholder for magic work over at http://www.venusinthekitchen.wordpress.com.  I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on it.

    Howdy

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 11:48 AM EST [General]

So, just stumbled onto this site and...um...loving it.  I actually have three blogs (or two and one that is woefully neglected) outside of here, so I think I'll just post when I update.

I write about being a mom, parenting a kid with Asperger's Syndrome, parenting an elf in kid's clothing, and gnashing my teeth at politicians here:  http://www.imnothannah.blogspot.com

I use this blog (http://www.venusinthekitchen.wordpress.com) as a sort of online Book of Shadows as I figure out which way my feet want to travel my spiritual path.

Merry meet, y'all.  Looking forward to getting to know you!

    Hi Heather,

    Welcome to Enchanted Folk!

I'd love to hear the story that goes with your avatar pic! (Is that from searching for sharks teeth?!)

    Faerie Blessings,

I hunt them on Amelia Island, Florida and, interestingly, make up stories about the Fae as I go...

    Thanks for the welcome!

So did I! Sharks teeth at Walton-on-the-Naze beach, and sharks teeth and dinosaur bones in the Isle of Wight!

Nice to meet you Heather, welcome to Enchanted Folk!

Ahh, I used to sift for fossilized sharks teeth too, near Santa Cruz. :^)
