    RIP Maurice Sendak

    Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 1:13 AM [General]

Today is a very sad  day. One of our greatest authors and illustrations died today of a stroke; Maurice Sendak 1928-2012. He was a troubled man but the true essence of his work shined through the darkness. His wild things were the inspiration for Ludo and his work meant a great deal to Jim Henson, and to me and to millions of his fans. We miss you Mr. Sendak, more than you will ever know.

    Where to begin

    Saturday, April 7, 2012, 10:56 PM [General]

Hello everyone! So sorry I have not been on here in a while. We miss you Be!

Things have had the bad faeries looking for more ways to torture me. Now it seems I have serious back problems. I am still trying to progress with my beading though and I have made a few new pieces. i'm trying to come up with a pattern for a seed bead owl next. Now if I could just pick up my painting again too. And work on my website too, good heavens where does the time go?

    Sigh, till the next

    Blessed Holidays

    Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 2:51 AM [General]

I hope everyone had a good holiday season.

Things have been crazy here and between holiday events, work and the expensive disasters with the house I have not had much time to post.

I think the goblins got into our air conditioning unit outside and destroyed the motor and some creeping bad faerie got into the pipes at the back of the house and destroyed them, rusting them completely. Ended up being an expensive job to fix the whole lot of it . I don't know what posessed the builders of our house to put the wrong pipe in there in the first place but apparantly the naughty faeries found it a ripe target for mayhem:

It was an odd day during a week when the weather cant seem to decide whether to be cold or hot and the wind was blowing in unpredictable gusts, and wouldnt you know it a big gust of wind came up and the weather turned bad when my father was out working in the garden. He wasn't finished and a little weather usually doesnt bother him so he goes to get the hose and turn on the water and the whole spigot broke off in his hand! bloomin faeries!

Gaww!  What a holiday. But I have to say now at years end, if there is one thing I have learned this year through all the strange happenings it is how much people should support and believe in one another. Especially those in a position to train or mentor. In my life I have only had two people who really believed in me and realized certain talents and traits and wanted me to suceed. And this year I have seen the stark difference between what it is like now and how it was like then in those two snapshots in time.

I do think the muses call to us at odd times when we are working at something unrelated. I don't know why I had the urge to make needle felted penguins with santa hats this year but I did and they were a hit. Perhaps further omen that I am better off doing creative persuits than my "normal" job that makes megar  money. I spent a ton on myuki beads and findings this season and so I think I will make a resolution do do more beading, felting and writing in the new year. I discovered a music artist that does epic pieces for tv and film so  I am letting their songs be the inspiration for my writing.

I hope every enchanted folk has a happy and blessed new year!

    Bones and beads

    Saturday, October 8, 2011, 2:09 AM [General]

I have been doing beading, honest I have! I've just been too tired to do more than one pair in a sitting. Work has me stressed out and tired, even when I am home, because of the stress and the nasty co-workers. I can't go into a bank or even a store to make a transaction without getting harassed or having something bizzare happen. It must be All Hallows Eve approaching and some sort of bad energy. Ugh. Even one of my more friendly co-workers said the same about bad energy.

But happily I sold a pair of my Skelly earrings! (see photo in my gallery. Sorry it is a bit out of focus) It paid for some of the supplies. I hope to make more. I am trying to get a haunted house pair finished by halloween. Then I will have to get to my regular 6 and 8 mm beads and crystals and trinkets together to make something nice. I am still going through a HUGE seed bead fettish though that I may not totally recover from :P

Listening to music on Youtube has lightened my spirits some so I suppose I can face an eight hour shift today and Sunday. I highly reccomend Origa (who sings among others "Lullaby" and "Rise" one of the theme songs from "Ghost in the Shell" anime. her voice is very nice.)

So much for my reading tonight (trying to read a book on PHP programming) its 2am and I need to get up at seven. Yikes!

    Happy Fall Yall

    Saturday, October 1, 2011, 12:20 AM [General]

I don't know where summer went and now it is almost Halloween. I didn't get blown away by that hurricane and I hope we don't get anymore. My hours have started to increase at work; holiday hours starting plus two people left, so that means less computer time and less Me time. Stress is the operative word for all that.

I will continue to post pics of my jewelry and art as I have time to work on them. One of these days my stuff will be up for sale on my Etsy site "fucia beads" Life has just been nuts.

Until the next and a southern "happy Fall yall" to everyone

    Yikes! It's a hurricane!

    Monday, August 22, 2011, 11:44 PM [General]

Just when I think I am getting thigs done and the drama of my birthday and this month and the last is over we get a hurricane!

I am praying it does not come here and I do not want to evacuate and leave all my beads and books and loose them all to a category 3 or 4 storm. We have evacuated before but those were not as big as they say this one is. Oh bloomin faeries! I don't wanna leave!

On the lighter side I uploaded two photos, yay! One is of a bookmark I made for a lady who is moving away, and the other is of a pair of beaded skeleton earrings I made for a co-worker. Pardon the blurry images, I don't know what is wrong with my camera these days even when I put on the no shake settings the pics come out odd.

Blessed be everyone and I hope I don't get blown away the end of the week!

    Happy summer

    Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 2:36 PM [General]

well, here I am just after the 4th trying to get my creative house in order and get the old drawing table in the little room in the front. You never know just how much stuff you have until you start rummaging through it!

I found the shoe the house elves took a few weeks ago halfway under the bed: where I know i did not put it and the gift for a co-workers new baby miraculouly surfaced quite fast after I said aloud "hey you can't have that its for the baby!" Faeries do like children... so I suspect they were either surprised I was giving a gift to one, and or sad they didn't have any to play with in this house. It would explain the expediency in which the item was returned. MY items never get returned that fast .... two weeks at the least not less than an hour as this one had.

When everything is finally set up and the expensive new floor lamp is in place I will have a creative, albit small, place to draw and do beadwork and felt. But first I have more rummaging to do and I must post pictures of my art. Eventually I will have a small website up to sell some of my creations. With everything going on in my household these things go at a snails pace though.

    happy summer everyone!

    goblin villages and bombshells

    Friday, March 25, 2011, 2:37 PM [General]

I know my posts have been few and far between and some have been intellegable, except perhaps by only those knowledgeable about fairy speak, but I have had a rough time and I am dealing with it day by day. Of course I woud rather be posting about my jewelry creations or art.

Usually I am aware of stalking goblins with bomb shooters (like the ones in Jim Henson's Labyrinth) but today I had one dropped on me out of the blue and I am still shaken. I re-applied for my old job at the new location only to find out some dissapointing and shocking things are happening. Add that to other things going on in my world and I feel flattened like a pancake. So I want to roll up into a ball now like a baby armadillo and just shut out the world.

My apoligies for the lack of posts. I would rather they be happy and full of creative things rather than this. So I will spread happy glitter and hope it lasts until I can be here again.
