Greetings from my beloved garden...
Spring has come and gone, just as the Spring floods (terrible flooding) and the 4th of July celebrations, and Summer is upon us full force! It has been really quite humid and hot as of late, and even now as I sit on my back porch writing. But despite the heat and humidity, I feel blessed for beauty around me... and quite thankful for iced tea and the occasional cool breeze as well!
As I gaze around my garden, I see many new plants that I've never seen in my garden before, many of which could be considered "giants" if I were but a wee faery or elf. I'm confident that most of them were planted when the house was built back in the Victorian era of 1907, yet they have laid domant for years, that is... until the spring rains came this past June and continued to rain for days, flooding everything!
Now they have come back to life after their long slumber, and many are quite colorful and pretty too! Columbine, thistle, oak, and primrose reaching towards the sun while gently swaying in the summer breeze, and proving that if you open your eyes and heart, you will always find that something good can come from the worst circumstances!
Blessings to all, and a blissful summer!
Nikki
