The Enchanted Folk Book of Faerie Volume I stops accepting submissions at Midnight on May 31st, 2008! This book is to help raise funds for the Fairy Box Charity, and I'd really, really, REALLY like to see it be successful, so if you want to be a part of it, get your submission to me ASAP!!! All of the information you need is listed on the main page of Enchanted Folk (Near the bottom, right hand side) and in my past Blog entries (You'll have to go back trough several pages of entries to find all the info).
Those of you who promised pages -- and still haven't gotten them to me -- I've been saving space for them, but WILL give it to someone else if I haven't recieved anything by the deadline. Get Busy!!!
The deadline draws ever closer, folks, and I have yet to hear from several of you who promised pages! You only have a few weeks left to get your submission to me for inclusion in the first volume, and there are very few pages left to fill! As soon as I've reached my quota for this volume, I'll start accepting submissions for volume 2, and I still would love to have 100% participation from all the good people here at Enchanted Folk! That would give me enough material for 11 total volumes! (At the present time -- as more people join the site, the number of total possible volumes grows!)
So -- Deadline is MIDNIGHT MAY 31, 2008 -- Bright Blessings, everyone!
I just got a phone call that pretty much ruined my day -- and the coming weekend. I had high hopes of making it to the Spoutwood Faerie Festival, but my ride and source of lodging just let me know that she's being admitted to the hospital tomorrow morning and will not be able to go to the Fest... (Sigh!) This also keeps me from fulfilling my promise to volunteer as a Photogra-fae for the weekend, so I've had to let the volunteer coordinator know that as well...
However, I still urge as many people as possible to go on Saturday and be part of the Merry Meetup at 1:00 PM for all Enchanted Folk! They'll be meeting by the Faerie Magazine booth, and while I can't be there physically, I'll be there in spirit... unless someone else manages to find me a ride. (Hey, there's at least a chance...)
Well, the time has come -- I must now set a deadline for submissions to the Enchanted Folk Book of Faerie, Volume I. The pages for the first volume MUST be submitted before Midnight, May 31st, 2008 . I'll accept those submissions until I have the last of the pages of the first volume filled, then hold any additional pages for Volume II. So -- if you want your artwork featured in the first volume, NOW is the time to get it to me!!! Thanks to everyone who has already submitted, and to those who are going to submit before the deadline... I really, really, REALLY would love to see submissions frome EVERY member of Enchnted Folk -- that would mean I could be working on ELEVEN volumes to raise funds for the Fairy Box Charity!
First and foremost, a resounding THANK YOU!!! to all those who have responded with artwork and photos for the book!
Next, a question -- If you haven't responded, Why Not? This book is a Labour of Love, meant to raise funds for The Fairy Box Charity (Go read about them on the front page of the Enchanted Folk website -- there's a link to take you to the charity's website!) that gives a little extra comforting to children in hospitals. In addition, it's a great FREE way to publicize your artwork, One-of-a-kind Dolls, Writing, Crafts, whatever-you-do while helping out. All of the information you need is on the Front Page of the Enchanted Folk website (Hey, if you're reading this, you're already on the site!) and in my blogs.
About the book -- 100 pages total per volume (Yes, we do want to produce additional volumes -- this is an ongoing project!), full color cover and interior pages. This will be sold on the internet, and possibly be picked up by the major bookstore chains. More details will be forthcoming as production progresses. Volume 1 still has open pages, but the sooner you respond, the more likely it will be that your work will be featured in it!
So come on, my Faerie Friends of Enchanted Folk -- get with it and show us what you can do!
