About Me:I am a fantasy art photographer, creating ethereal imagery through a blending of photography, art and technology. All elements of my art are original. I do all my own photography(I do not use stock photos). All fantasy effects such as glowing fairy wings are digitally painted by me, as well. I design my own costumes and they are all handmade.
Music:I love listening to all kinds of great music (especially while I work but I have a particular favorite.....my sister:
Circle of Wings:
http://myspace.com/circleofwingsband
Movies:A few of my favorites: Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven, King Arthur, Chocolat, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Local Hero, King Kong(1933), Wizard of Oz, Jason and the Argonauts(old one).... oh, lots more, too!
Books:I read many types of books but I love to collect beautifully illustrated children's books...old and new.
Hobbies:Traveling, painting, Hiking through the woods finding the secret places fairies live, gardening, making costumes, collecting books....
Here is my newest piece. I think of her as a Sea Nymph or a Nereid. This creation was particulary fun for me because the dress in this picture was sent to me by Kelly Brown, a clothing designer from the LA area. It is covered in faux pearls and was just stunning.
If you would like to see more, you can visit Kelly's website at: www.gaiaclothing.com
Plus, I had the extra treat of my good friend, Gaston Gilliard, writing this haunting poem inspired by Oceana. I would love to share his work with all of you, as well.........
Mist and Breath A goddess from the Faerie realm, revealed herself to me. A glace from her briny eyes, draw me to the sea.
Is this some vision which lingers, from beyond my waking eye? Or does sound of surf and sea lull me where I lie?
The ebb and flow, the rise and fall, like breath and heart as one. Drawing me toward your kingdom, far beneath the sun.
What awaits me in the depths below, far from clear blue sky? Will I return from the journey, will I even try?
As you turn the sea wind blows, a parting kiss to me. You make my choice instead for me, you chose to set me free.
Breathless I return once more, to the swaying of the ship. Why then every morning do I awake, to salt upon my lip.
She looks like a beautiful Sea Goddess!
I love the way the waves are lapping up around her. The soft tones of color and light go well with her gold wings and dress.
Nicely done!!!
Oooo, gorgeous, the colouring & composition are amazing, so evocative & with a perfect poem companion (Gaston's words are beautiful =) Dearest Susan friend, thank you for enchanting our lives ~ I can smell the gentle sea spray from here...

When I was at FaerieWorlds last August, I had the wonderful pleasure of making a new friend by the name of Priscilla Hernandez. She was very kind also to indulge me by letting me photograph her. I have to thank my friend, Tommy, for all that since he is the person who connected Priscilla and I in the first place.
I shared some of the photos I took with him and we each chose a similar picture to create a fantasy art photo with Priscilla. Tommy and I are both now "unveiling them here at Enchanted Folks. Visit Tommy's site to see what he made! My creation is titled, "The Ghost and the Fairy" and was inspired by Priscilla's Ancient Shadows CD. Click here for full size view As many of you may already know, Priscilla and her boyfriend, Hector, were robbed when they returned home to Spain after FaerieWorlds. I will be selling this print at FaerieCon in October(and also on my webstore) and donating the profits from this print to Priscilla.
That is truly stunning, you are soooo talented! I am off to luxylian woods with my new camera to photograph the Fae!
Have a great Sunday. Off to take a peek at Tommy's.

Now I"m curious about this "Ancient Shadows" CD! I had a blast doing this with you too Susan. It's been like waiting for Christmas to finally happen, and look at this beautifully ethereal image. Poor Hector looks like he's lost there, back on the Oregon coast! Leave it to Priscilla though, her magique bringing him back home.
I also just love how your clothing line is coming out, the leaves woven so expertly in with her outfit. I'd love to watch you do that sometime.
Well on top of all the other glitches I told you about tonight, the power went out too! So I lost all of my browser's cache, which on dial-up means an incredible time to reload. Hence my almost-next-day reply!
A toast to the ghost and his host! Miss Schroder you certainly have the fairy spirit. To state the obvious, this is a great piece. Must go now inspiration is calling.
I was leaving a comment earlier on but it's not showing, just wanted to thank deep from my heart, i'm so honoured... i can't believe what you did with the dress.. arg I want that dress...
you're so amazing!!!
looking forward to meet soon!
Finally home from a hectic two week trip that ended with Faerie Worlds. It was great to meet some people from right here at EF, but unfortunately, I think there were a whole lot more people that I missed. We really should have organized a Merry Meet! (RdeHwyll...we needed you!!)
Here's a cute little Fairy Dog that wandered about....
Is she real? This Dryad inhabits a tree in the wonderous Golden Wood. She emerges.... emanating with all the grace and beauty of nature....into our world. Hopefully, her magic will never leave us.
The Faerie Realm has kindly granted me permission to share my photographs with the world. It is their hope and mine that these images will help strengthen our will to preserve the planet we share with all creatures....seen and unseen.
As with all the pictures you find here on my page, it is entirely photographic......
Oh my faery goodness, dearest Susan friend, she is truly enchanting, quite taking my breath away, stunningly effective in provoking further profound thought, the Golden Wood Dryad does indeed encourage us mortals to reflect & try harder to preserve the natural wonders we are so deeply blessed & entrusted with ~ the longer I stay with her, the more I am moved... THANK YOU my lovely, for bequeathing your awesome talents to inspire us in this magical way =) With my love & appreciation always,
This beautiful, it reminds me of our summer solstice merry meet at the arboretum with Be, Drew and Amanda.
I am sending you some fairy healing to relieve your stress.
Love and light

No, that was Trish Hedegaard, who is an amazing artist! I was Giovanna's helper, actually, but I don't think I was much help! I hope to meet you next time, beautiful one!
Susan, thank you sooo much for the gift you and Priscilla gave me of her CD. Finally, I got to hear her, and I love the acoustics of it. It reminds me of a walk through a snowy forest, coming upon her music across a frozen pond, echoing amongst crystalline trees. Very ethereal and magical. I'll also always treasure the note you attached to it, as part of the CD itself (Sorry Pris, your image there wont be viewable :^).
Hey Susan, it was so great to get to meet you in person and see your work up close. You have really got a tremendous talent. I appreciate you being a part of Realm of the Muse and letting me use your artwork for the banners. I'm still on the fence. I was decidedly no for the first few days but some changes are apparently coming soooo...we'll see! If I do, I'll have to hire some help. I think that will make a huge difference.
Aw poor you!
Eat liquorice! I can't stand the stuff but it's the best natural remedy for illnesses caused by a virus, such as the common cold!
Hope you feel better soon,
Faerie Blessings,
Hi Susan, it was so nice to meet you too! It was such a fun time wasn't it? I think that so many of us artists struggle with that same thing. And its difficult to say no to those commissions sometimes, lol. Hope to see you again soon.
The picture, The poem really really awsome.
